A George IV mahogany mantel clock by Septimus Miles, the eight day twin barrel movement striking the hours on a bell, the brass backplate engraved and inscribed 'Septimas Miles, Ludgate Street, London', the circular dial with Arabic numerals and pierced hands, inscribed 'Miles LUDGATE STREET', the lancet shape case inlaid with stringing and banding, with brass fishscale panel sides and brass feet, 38.8cm high, 25cm wide, 16cm deep. Septimus Miles (active 1794-1847) was free of the Clockmakers Company in 1797.
