A Coalbrookdale Oak and Ivy pattern cast iron seat circa 1870 fully stamped C B Dale and with registration number and model number 155cm.; 61ins wide The original design, number 119253, was registered and patented by the Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry at the Public Record office on 8th March 1859, and is seat number 30 in their 1875 Castings Catalogue. It was designed by the sculptor John Bell, one of Coalbrookdale’s principal designers, whose famous Deerhound Centre Table was exhibited at the 1855 Universal Exhibition, and which is now in the Iron Bridge Gorge Museum, Shropshire.

An early 19th Century oak longcase clock by James Last of Stalham (Norfolk), the 12ins arched painted dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the arch and spandrels decorated with shells to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell, contained in plain oak case with shaped cresting and turned and fluted pillars to hood, arched trunk door, 82ins high (case reduced in height and dial in need of cleaning), complete with pendulum, two cast iron weights, crank winding handle and door key Note : James Last record working Stalham 1796 and there is also recorded a clockmaker of the same name working 1836 (possibly father and son). The painted dial is by Walker & Hughes, Birmingham, who were in partnership from 1811 to 1835, and thus the clock will date circa 1820

Signal Box `mimic` diagram from Neath & Brecon Junction Signal Box. The item probably dates from the 1960`s when the layout around Neath Riverside was rationalised. It measures 12" x 5" and is wooden construction with ivorine overlay. It shows the line from Glyn Neath and also Onllwyn to the left and the line to Jersey Marine to the right. A couple of original pegs remain, these were used to show the location of the many trains that would have been working at a given time in the vicinity. Not seen the likes before so quite a scarcity. Together with Signal Box description Plates, qty 3 traffolite, each 4" x 1":- Cymmer (For Token Inst); Llynfi Jcn (For Block Bell) ; Llynfi Jcn (For Disc)
Four 18th century drinking glasses comprising a late 18th century Ale Glass, the conical bowl decorated with barley and hops on plain stem with knop, height 13.5cm., chip to rim; a mid-18th century wine glass, the bell bowl on multi-spiral air twist stem and conical foot, height 16.5cm., two chips to foot; a mid-18th century wine glass, with pointed round funnel bowl with incised air twist stem on domed foot, height 17.5cm., one small nibble to foot; and a mid-18th century wine glass, the ogee bowl on an air twist stem with spiral cable outside lace twist, on a conical foot, height 15cm., one nibble to foot. A fine walnut and floral marquetry longcase clock first quarter of the 18th century, the oak lined case with walnut veneered sides inset with stringing and cross banding, the front profusely decorated with floral marquetry on a background of ebony veneer, the hood with wide overhanging cornice supported on turned fruitwood columns to the front and quartered columns to the rear, all with gilded capitals and bases, the inlay of the long trunk door panel in varicoloured woods displaying birds, flowers in an urn supported by winged mythical figures and leafy foliage, surrounding a glass `bull`s eye` aperture with further birds, flowers and figures below, the base with an ogee moulding above another panel of floral inlay on a walnut plinth, the 12 inch square brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial, square date aperture and finely matted centre, mounted with spandrels of pairs of cherubs supporting crowns, engraved in the Roman chapter ring with minute track, `Clark Preston London`, maker of the movement which strikes on a single bell, 82½in. (209.5cm.) high, the trunk 12¾in. (32.5cm.) wide, plinth moved up and reaffixed to the bottom edge of the floral panel to shorten clock, original base of the case believed to remain behind plinth. A Georgian and later ebonised fruitwood veneered bracket clock with inverted bell top and carrying handle, the brass dial with mask and foliage spandrels, Roman and Arabic chapter ring and silvered date ring, below which is an open panel bearing the engraved maker`s name `J Sharp Bawtry`, enclosed by an arched glazed door, the case 11in. wide at the base, 18½in. (47cm.) high, the replacement 19th century brass movement striking on a single bell. See Illustration.
A George IV mahogany sofa table the ebony strung dropflap top with bell flower inlay to the corners, over two opposing ebony edged drawers within an ebony and brass banded and inlaid frieze, on lyre shaped end supports with broad ebony banding, united by a pierced serpentine stretcher, terminating in brass hairy paw cap casters, 36 x 26in., 56.5in. long open, 28.25in. high.
