Poems, first edition, second issue, advertisement f., this issue without the errata or publisher's catalogue, presentation inscription from Herbert Asquith signed "O" to front free endpaper, Westleys & Co. binders label to rear pastedown, bookplates to pastedown, original ribbed green cloth with harp design to covers, spine faded and affixed with tape, spine 1" portion of loss to head, chipped at foot, corners a little bumped, covers faded, [Smith 1 pp.6-14], 8vo, Smith, Elder and Co., 1846 [but 1848].⁂ A copy of this scarce early collection of poetry with an interesting provenance, the copy is presented to a friend "R.D." and signed "O" as Asquith by this point was Lord Oxford.⁂ Provenance: By decent from the recipient.

EARLY 19TH CENTURY WELSH MAHOGANY CASED EIGHT DAY TWO TRAIN LONG CASE CLOCK marked: B&D Thomas of Carmarthen, having hood with broken swan neck pediment above arched aperture, flanked by baluster turned, gilt metal mounted pillars, the waist with plain moulded door flanked by quarter pilasters on a panelled base with turned feet. Arched painted face, 18" x 12", painted with buildings and figures, Roman numerals, seconds dial and date aperture. Eight day movement striking on one bell. Overall 220cm high approx.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Includes key and appearing overall in good condition, the face appearing to have been repainted, with two weights and pendulum.
18TH CENTURY ENGLISH OAK CASED THIRTY HOUR LONG CASE CLOCK marked: Payne of Ludlow, the case having moulded cornice over dentil frieze, square aperture flanked by turned pillars, pointed arch waist door on a panelled base with bracket feet. 10" brass face with foliate spandrels and Roman numerals, 30 hour four pillar movement, striking on one bell.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Appearing in good original condition, no obvious significant damage or losses, includes pendulum and weight.
19TH CENTURY WELSH MAHOGANY EIGHT DAY LONG CASE CLOCK marked: Davies, Carmarthen, the case having broken swan neck pediment over arched aperture flanked by reeded pillars, the waist with moulded arched door on a panelled base. Plain painted face, 17.5 x 13" with Roman numerals, seconds dial and date aperture, eight day, two train movement strikes on one bell.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: There is some cracking horizontally to the pediment, the case is scuffed, marked and stained in places and probably lacks its original feet, includes two weights, pendulum and original door key, the face appears to have been re-painted, but well done.
A.D. BELL, (British, flourished 1920-1950), two similar studies of Clipper Ships, rolling under full sail, and leaving harbour, signed and dated: 1947 and 1948. 25 x 38cm (2)(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Both appearing in good condition, some foxing to mount and glass but the images themselves appear clean, matching frames and mounts.

BELL, (British, 1920-1950), harbour scene, probably Cornwall, together with clipper ship and other vessels off a coastline, two similar, signed, one dated: 1948, 27 x 37cm and 26 x 36cm approx.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Harbour scene has a number of small foxing spots and similar, to a lesser degree, with the clipper ship. both are dirty externally, with spotting on the glass and some marking on mounts.
A.D. BELL, (British, 1920-1950), square rigged clippers off coastlines with other vessels, a pair, signed, watercolours, 26 x 36cm approx.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Both in good condition, very tiny marks noted with age and some fading to edge near mounts. Modern frames and mounts.
18TH CENTURY OAK CASED THIRTY HOUR LONG CASE CLOCK marked: Taylor of Bridgnorth, the case with moulded cornice over square aperture, flanked by turned pillars, narrow moulded waist door on a panelled base. 11" square brass face with foliate brass spandrels, Roman and Arabic numerals, seconds dial and date aperture. Thirty hour movement striking on one bell with four baluster pillars. 200cm high approx. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good condition, the case has been re-panelled and altered to the base, although not looking too out of keeping, the remainder of the case, waist and hood appearing quite original. Includes a single weight and pendulum.
18TH CENTURY OAK TWO TRAIN LONG CASE CLOCK having broken swan neck pediment over square aperture flanked by turned pillars, moulded arched waist door flanked by quarter pilasters on a panelled base with bracket feet. Brass face associated to the movement, not original, having foliate brass spandrels, Arabic and Roman silvered chapter ring and silvered seconds dial. Eight day two train movement strikes on one bell. 12" square face.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: General wear to the case, commensurate with age, scuffed and marked in places, the base, one of the bracket feet is missing, general scuffing and wear with losses around the panelled base. Face is not original to movement, unnamed. Door may have been turned around at some stage.
ART DECO DESIGN FRENCH MARBLE CLOCK GARNITURE marked: Le Long, Melun, the geometrically decorated architectural shaped case surmounted by a plated metal frigate bird motif, anchor on rockwork, oval face with Arabic distorted numerals, brass drum shaped, two train movement, striking on one bell, together with a pair of matching veined marble, vase shaped supporters. Clock 45cm high, vase supporters 26cm high. (3)(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Rather grubby, scuffed and marked in places, but no significant damage, includes key and pendulum.
19TH CENTURY FRENCH BRASS FOUR GLASS TWO TRAIN MANTLE CLOCK oval shaped case with removable top, bevelled glass panels, enamelled face with Roman numerals and exposed escapement, French brass drum shaped movement marked H. P & Co, striking on one bell. 30cm high.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: The finish on the brass case has dulled with no remaining gilding. Securing nut from bell appears missing.
