A heavy gold coloured finish metal cased Mantel Clock by ''Hry Marc a Paris'' having an enamelled face with Roman numerals and regulator spindle above the 12 o'clock position, the two train movement by Japy Freres designed for striking on a bell (the bell is absent) but the winding key and pendulum are present, the case features trailing flowering stems and a young lady with a garland over her lap and a dove perched on her left hand, 13 3/4'' tall, 11'' wide x 6 1/4'' deep approx. (turned finial loose), face hairline cracked.

The last copy at auction we can trace was in 1948. The work was particularly well-received in New England, and recommended to all members there at their Yearly Meeting.

Striking the hours on a bell. Good clean movement. Completed with key to door. Height 195cm, width 45.5cm at hood. Dial - 30cm / 12inches. Set up and working in our saleroom.

White dial with Roman numerals, painted gilt spandrels and oval hand painted plaque above the dial depicting a maiden awaiting the return of her lover's ship. Painted makers name "Broon" of Burton. Glazed arch door with broken arch pediment over with brass finial and scroll caps. Tapering brass columns with brass ends flapping the door. Oak case with panelled plinth. Brass pendulum on rod, weights suspended on wire. Footplate fixed to case. Winder and key with us. Overall height 223cm. Width of Hood 50.5cm. Dial 13inches/33cm.

White enamelled dial with black roman numerals and blued steel moon hands. An 8-day two train movement, stamped Hy Marc Paris, striking the hours and single strike to the half hour on a bell. Adjustable twin-flask mercury compensated pendulum. Backplate stamped with registration number 60183. With key.
Two folio volumes (xxiv, 3124 and xxiv, 388) "Egypt Descriptive, Historical and Picturesque" by G. Ebers, translated from the original German by Clara Bell, published by Cassell & Co, 1884. Contains over 700 fine wood engravings, some of them full-page plates, others smaller details of architecture, scenery, and people. The list of 30 artists includes Alma Tadema, Alois Schonn, Frank Dillon, and Gustav Kuhn.
