Thomas Gibson of Berwick - oak and mahogany 8-day longcase clock c 1860, with a flat topped pediment and recessed break arch door beneath, free standing pilasters with brass capitals, trunk with quarter columns to the corners and a wavy topped door, on a rectangular oak plinth with a shaped base, painted dial with floral spandrels and a sporting scene to the break arch, Roman numerals, minute track and subsidiary seconds and date dial's, matching stamped brass hands pinned via a false plate to a rack striking movement, striking the hours on a bell. A late 19th / early 20th century cast-iron clockwork table-bell modelled as a sow (16 cm wide)Condition Report: This item is significantly oxidised commensurate with age. The condition is pretty good overall with no losses/breakages or restorations noted. The tail is the lever for the bell/mechanism underneath and when it is wound the bell goes off, thus the mechanism is only in partial working order.
A fine 19th century gilt-metal-mounted and marble eight-day mantle clock: the finial surmount as a two-handled urn with roses and leaves; white-enamel dial with Arabic numerals and indistinctly signed 'Aarie'? and '240 Rue de Rivoli'; gilded and gilt-metal-mounted marble uprights with wrythens, flowerheads and a pair of doves in the centre; the movement striking on a bell. (Full height 38.5 cm)Condition Report: It is noted that the gilded/marble surmount is away from the clock (original nut present). Dial has a few spots and minor blemishes and tiny rim fritting. Dirty and in need of a clean. Marble with minor scratching to vertical pillars at the back. No major problems noted.

Very small chip around the right-hand 4 o'clock position. Both left and right oval portrait vignettes in good condition. Very dusty and dirty overall. Gilding is quite dark and it is possible that the back of the clock would have had a glass or metal covering (now missing) there are redundant screw holes halfway left & right. Individually numbered lower right position and same number on the original pendulum.
