The vendor, a Petty Officer served as Flight Crew. NB: HMS Intrepid an LPD took part in the Amphibious landing at San Carlos in 1982 and came under heavy air attack

A bronze ships bell, from 'H.M.S Vivacious', with clapper, 11.5in (29cm) h, 12.5in (32cm) dia, on a later wrought iron bracket. H.M.S. Vivacious was an Admiralty V-class Destroyer. The ship was laid down in July 1916 and launched on 3rd November that year as the 1st Royal Navy warship to carry this name. She was completed in December 1917 and was fitted for use as a minelayer. During 1919-1920 this ship was deployed in the Baltic and was in action against Russian warships. Later she served in the Atlantic and Mediterranean Fleets until the mid 1930's when placed in Maintenance Reserve at Rosyth and brought forward in August 1939 for the Review of the Reserve Fleet by HM King George VI at Weymouth. The ship remained in commission and began war service in Western Approaches, including Dunkirk in 1940 and Normandy in 1944. In 1947 the ship was placed on the disposal list and broken up in 1948.

A French late 19th century gilt metal mantel clock the 3 inch Sevres style porcelain dial with twin winding apertures and Roman numerals, the base with two further floral porcelain insets, the twin train cylinder movement striking on a bell, the ornate case with a seated 18th century style lady holding an easel and forming the surmount, with trailing husk, rococo scroll, anthemion and fluted decoration to the architectural base, together with a giltwood plinth and an ebonised oval plinth 32cm wide, 30cm high
