One drawer stamped E R Hammond, 30 Bell Yard, Lincolns Inn, another drawer stencilled from S & H Jewells Furniture Warehouse, 29-31 Little Queen Street, Holborn. S & H Jewells are recorded as quality cabinet makers 1830-1840 while Mr. Hammond appears to be an auctioneer and agent to the legal profession with an advert published in The Jurist Newspaper, March 1845 promoting chambers at 30 Bell Yard Lincolns Inn to let. Condition report: Some sections of cross banding to top repaired, replacement leather skin, three small sections of moulding missing from drawer fronts, three drawer locks missing, overall condition fair to good.
