George IV ebonised bracket clock, acorn finial, side ring handles, stepped top, ball feet, circular painted dial signed James McCabe, Royal Exchange, London, 1227, double fusee repeating movement, with engraved backplate, striking on a bell, adjustable pendulum, height 49cm.Condition report:The case has had a lot of restoration work, some replacements including the finial and platform from the top, and feet, the movement does look a bit small for the case, the washers on the outside of the case for the movement mounts do interfere with the grilles, unfortunately I can not remove the grilles to get images from the sides so have uploaded images as best as possible, dial has been renovated but is good, I can;t find any serial number on the movement, however there is a stamped number to the case, lower edge of the door frame, 7708. The movement winds, ticks and strikes.Further images have been uploaded to the lot page on our website.

Dial signed Ryly not Riley, burr walnut longcase clock, the hood with moulded cornice, fretted frieze, three quarter engaged barley twist columns, long door with bullseye lenticle, bun feet, 12" square brass dial, cherub and crown spandrels, silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, signed William Riley, London, eight day movement striking on a bell, 213cm.Condition report:The case has been restored over time including veneer repairs, top of hood and feet rebuilt, etc. The dial is a good fit for the hood but unsure as to a marriage; seat board is probably replaced. The movement does tick over with the seconds dial turning freely. However, the date dial is loose and the bell does not seem a very good fit (the hammer misses it, unless it is touching the back of the dial, in which case it makes a clunk rather than chime). So some degree of service and repair are needed for the mechanism. Pendulum and weights present (weights are not brass-cased, just iron). Th dial has wear to the matting and overall mellowing/discolouration; the calendar ring is also currently dislodged and the hands are replacements otherwise is in good order. The case is later than the movement (early 19th century versus early 18th century but is in sound condition with faults limited to age related bumps, scuffs, scratches etc. The mask around the dial and the hood door have probably been re-made to accommodate the earlier dial.Clock has pendulum, two weights but no winding key. Condition Report Disclaimer

A FRENCH GILT AND PATINATED BRONZE MANTEL CLOCKWith eight-day bell-striking movement, the dial inscribed Lapine, Place des Victories, No. 12The case in the form of Bacchus in his chariot, on a plinth base49cm high, 55.5cm wide, 21cm deepCondition Report: Clock is fitted with a movement by Vincenti & Cie most likely dating to the last quarter of the 19th century; the movement is a little dirty/neglected but will just about run and the striking mechanism is operational hence a clean/service is probably all that is required. The dial has extensive noticeable restoration (filling and colouring) as well as chipping/losses to the enamel. The case generally is in good original condition retaining original finishes albeit with overall discolouration/tarnishing and light to moderate wear. The rear cover glass has been replaced and is now secured via tangs soldered to the bezel. There are also filed slots in the bezel and corresponding holes in the circumference of the case suggesting clips for securing the rear cover were once present, Clock has a pendulum but no winding key.Clock is 56cm wide, 22cm deep, 48cm high. Condition Report Disclaimer
