Autograph Interest Notecard With Peter Pan Reference Attributed To J M Barrie Dated February 1909 Framed Note Of Thanks believed to be handwritten by the author of Peter Pan and Wendy. Dated Feb 1909 (Between the first public performance of the play in 1904 and the publishing of the book in 1911) The note is hand written in cursive script, to the top left, printed in blue ink is the word 'Tinker Bell' with cursive underlining. The card reads 'Must get some ''Fairy Dust'' from the fairies if you want to fly. Love from Peter Pan'. Dear Diana, many thanks for your nice letter JM'. The card is dated to top left Feb 21/09. Framed and mounted in small period frame, the mount shows several areas of staining, there are some areas of foxing to the letter. According to our client this item has remained in the family's possession from the early 20th century.

Chater, London, Roman numerals, twin winding holes, eight-day twin-fusee movement striking on a bell, the backplate engraved with a wrigglework dog tooth border,the arched case with brass carrying handle, borders and pierced gilles, ogee bracket feet, 40cm high, c.1805 Richard Chater (1760-1811) was a third generation London maker, son of Eliezer Chater, of Cornhill. He was apprenticed to his father 1774 & was free of the clockmakers' Company 1781. His grandfather James Chater was very eminent and a maker of musical clocks.

Roberts, Cranbrook, shells to arch, floral spandrels, flat top to hood,50cm highJohn Roberts was born at Cranbrook (Kent) son of Stephen Roberts in October 1787, would have been apprenticed c. 18901-1808, and would have made this clock not long afterwards, as suggested by its extremely traditional form but rather up-to-date painted dial. He is recorded as working 1826-1828 and died in 1850.

He worked from New Square and later from Market Place in Chesterfield recorded 1827 to 1849 when he appears to have died. An oak cased clock by him was sold locally in 1991.

Condition Report: The upper part of the pediment has been removed at some time, no doubt to accommodate the clock in a low ceilinged room
An early Victorian mahogany crossbanded oak longcase clock, 29cm square dial inscribed Leeds, West End, Sittingbourne, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and calendar dials, thirty hour movement striking on a bell, swan neck pediment turned columns, arched rectangular door to waist, flanked by reeded quarter columns, bracket feet, 210cm high, c.1840 Paul Colley Leeds was born in March 1813, son of Amos and Rebecca Leeds, was apprenticed 1827 to 1834 and was working at West End, Sittingbourne, Kent from 1838 to 1874. He married Leonora Cruttenden in 1843, and died in 1896.
A William IV mahogany longcase clock, the 36cm arched painted dial inscribed *** H***, Burslem, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, rolling moon phase to arch, twin-winding holes, the spandrels emblematic of the Four Continents, eight-day movement striking on a bell, the case with swan neck pediment, turned columns, shaped rectangular door to waist, outlined throughout with boxwood and ebony stringing, 235cm high, c. 1835The maker is almost certainly John Spencer Hill, who was born 1798 in Coventry, where he was apprenticed 1812-1819 moving to Burslem on his marriage. He was later of Queen Street, Wolstanton, and died in 1854. Condition Report: Central finial to hood missing, gut lines loose; dial faded.

By his wife Sarah he had three children, Henry, James and Ellen. He died in October 1864. Condition Report: Base panel loose; glass in door to dial cracked, veneers lifting on dial surround, lart of ivorine excutcheon missing.
