Under a jewellers loupe one can see some very fine surface scratches on the Obv. In our opinion this coin has not been mounted. Some definition on the shield flattened. Egypt & Sudan Campaign Medal Pair “D” Battery 1st Brigade Royal Artillery, group consists of Egypt and Sudan medal with single clasp Tel El Kebir awarded to “14135 GUNR C BEEL D/1” and bronze Khedives star for 1882. The medals have been mounted into a glazed frame along with a other ranks Victorian Royal Artillery helmet plate and a brass plaque with recipients details. The medal roll shows 14135 Gunner D C Bell serving with D battery 1st Brigade Royal Artillery who is entitled to this combination and bar. We have not removed the medals from the frame and inspected, sold as seen.

A rare First War Officer's cuff rank uniform and medals, formerly the property of Captain R W White, 21st Canadian Infantry Battalion/Royal Flying Corps:- First War Khaki Officer's cuff-rank tunic by Hobson & Sons London together with trousers by Bell Jardiniere of Paris, the jacket with 21st Canada Infantry Battalion collars, early Observer's half-wing brevette, two silver wound strips, four blue arm chevrons, brass Canadian buttons and medal ribbons, the fourth ribbon unattributed and thought to be either for the Allied Victory Medal or the ribbon that accompanied the Pembroke Civic Medallion, the tunic name "Capt. R.W. White 98/92". Sold together with a 1914/15 Star trio (Capt.R.W.White 21st Canadian Infantry); Canadian Memorial Cross named "Capt.R.W.White" with original condolence card, Pembroke bronze Civic Medallion inscribed "Lt.R.W.White"; bronze Life Saving Medallion "R.W.White June 1914" in original box; brown envelope from Robert Simpson Stores Toronto containing six padded Officer's pips, brass buttons, etc together with a copy of Captain White's full service record in excess of 50 pages, extensive personal history research of over 27 pages and various copies of photographs and reference material used in the personal history. Captain R W White 21st Battalion Canadian Infantry Machine Gun Officer posted to the 4th Brigade Machine Gun Company 14th December 1915. In the late Spring of 1916 he transferred to The Royal Flying Corps qualifying as an Observer in July 1916; his aircraft piloted by Lt. S. Alder RFC was shot down on the 25th January 1917 by Oberleutenant K H Von Griffenhagen who flew with Baron Von Richtoffen and spent the remaining period of the War as a prisoner of war being repatriated on the 30th November 1918

A French gilt-metal and porcelain clock garnitureLate 19th CenturyThe mantel clock of architectural form, with blue painted porcelain panels and dial, in the Sevres style, the movement detailed 'G. F. 148' and striking on a bell; together with a pair of three light candelabra en suiteClock, 36cm high; candelabra, 38cm highCondition report: As can be seen from the online photograph the one candelabra arms are need to be straightened and currently the upper half is not sitting vertically. The two scroll branches making up the side arms are loose and require refixing to the base of the central shaft. The other candelabra is missing a liner to the inside of the candle nozzle (as can be seen the far left of the photograph). The toupie feet of both candelabra are stamped 'G.G'There is no winding key present with the lot. There is no guarantee of the working order of the clock movement. Overall, the gilding is bright. Some minor casting flaws in the odd place, minor spots of tarnishing, scuffs and scratches, together with some wax residue in areas commensurate with age and use.Dial with no glass. Porcelain mounts in good order. The gilding to the decoration of the centre of dial is slight rubbed, also visible in the photograph.
