A Queen Anne silver porringer by Robert Timbrell & Joseph Bell I, London 1710, plain with a slightly everted rim, twin cast S-scroll handles, engraved with an armorial and `DE` over a star over `G` verso, 10cm (4in) high, 336g (10.8 oz). This well executed cartouche is alluring but the male side of the arms, ostensibly for Lord Chief Justice Popham`s family, has the two stag heads engraved on a partition shaded the wrong way as well as being too deep to be acceptable. Additionally the star below it is too large to be the mark for a third son but too small to be a substantive charge. It must therefore remain an unidentified or spurious armorial.

Boiler history: Franklin & Bell of Gloucester steel boiler No. FB363. Original certificate of conformity dated 14th May 2000. Design pressure 220 p.s.i. Working pressure 110 p.s.i. Hydraulic Certificate of Test No. 1757AB, carried out by Mr J.A. Glaze of Wolverhampton, signed and dated 2nd May 2000.
