A very large 18th Century drinking glass circa 1740, the two piece drawn trumpet bowl above a solid plain stem with upper tear, raised to a wide conical folded foot, height 22cm, together with a smaller example with a waisted bell form bowl with solid base section having a tear bubble drawn to a slim line through the plain stem, raised to a shallow conical folded foot, height 18.5cm.

Lot 302
A walnut veneered and feather-banded eight-day longcase clock: the 12-inch brass dial behind a glazed door flanked by two columns, the silver chapter ring with Roman numerals and signed Jno. Austin - Wattford [sic] and cornered by ornately pierced spandrels with two cherubic-style figures holding aloft a crown in veneration of the 1660 Restoration of the Stuart monarchy; the textured centre dial with subsidiary seconds dial (hand missing) and ornately engraved date aperture above the 6 o'clock position; tall rectangular and feather banded trunk door with oval glass pendulum viewing aperture; the movement striking on a bell; crossbanded lower section; raised on plinth base, with weights and pendulum. (209.5 cm high)Condition: We're not sure if the case is contemporary with the movement. The clock was refurbished circa 1940. Although looks good together, newer wood has been put onto the platform so it sits correctly.

A WW1 1915 star trio awarded to 20788 Pte Harry Chadwick, 6th Dragoon Guards / Machine Gun Corps.Plus, a WW2 / early 1950’s chromed and marcasite RAF sweetheart brooch, a WW1 sweetheart brooch, a scarce WW2 metal bell made from a German aircraft shot down over the U.K (for the RAF benevolent fund) plus, 2 WW1 era posed photographs of Pte Chadwick with his Lewis Gun.Notes: Pte Harry Chadwick had 3 service numbers in his army career; 20788, 41665, and 13054.He entered the war in France on May 18th 1915, and his medal index card confirms this as his full entitlement.8 items.Condition: generally very good.The medals are toned, but very good condition and retaining their original ribbons.The marcasite brooch is good, as is the WW1 brooch and the metal bell.Some foxing to the larger photograph, and the smaller one has some wear to the edges - the images are clear though.

WW2 R.A.F. Type C leather flying helmet in size No.3.Fitted with original receivers, with each having Air Ministry marks ‘10A/13466’.Wiring loom also fitted, with correct bell shaped jack plug. The helmet is complete with a later issued, mid 1950’s type A-13A oxygen mask (marked 6D/1521 to the hose socket). 2 items.Condition: very little wear to the leather exterior or lining - the rubber mask and canvas straps also appear to be in good condition.

A Carl Zeiss surveyor's level, Serial No. 11924, in fitted oak box, supplied by Clarkson's Optical Stores 338 High Holborn London, box size 23 cm x 17.5 cm x 12.5 cm, a Brunsviga hand calculator (poss 1925/26), 24 cm wide, bears typed label inscribed "This Brunsviga hand calculator was purchased by Mr W T Halcrow to enable Reginald Sorré Cole to calculate the surge characteristics of the main tunnel in Lochaber Hydro Electric Scheme by an interative process. Cole's paper "The Surge Chamber in Hydro Electric Installations: Methods of Calculation" was published as "Selected Engineering Paper No. 55 by The Institution of Civil Engineers in 1927...", a Bell & Howell 16 mm cine camera in brown leather carrying case and a Polaroid Electric Eye 900 land camera, with flash units in brown leather carrying case CONDITION REPORTS Bell & Howell camera only - the leather case is broken, stitching is coming away, rather battered, etc. The camera itself - unknown if working. There are remnants of a glue like substance to the casing and some of the laminate is peeling on the cut out corners. Is grubby all over with some surface scratching and chips to the lacquer. The larger lens is rather dirty. See images. Although appears to be mainly on the exterior, although there is a black mark which appears to be inside the lens. The smaller lens appears again dirty, dusty but generally OK though with a larger scratch to the outside casing. General wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for further detail.
