GEORGE WALDFOGEL, LYNN, AN UNUSUAL NORFOLK LONGCASE CLOCK, the oak case with long trunk door, the flat hood with plain tapered pilasters, complete with unusual German movement of "Black Forest" type, wooden posted movement with brass wheel work, striking on a top-mounted bell, 30.5cm arched painted dial, signed. Seat board replaced. 2.05m overall. Note: The Waldfogel business clearly had Germanic connections and this clock brings together the styles of English and German clock making of the mid-19th century. The case is earlier.
