late 19th century, the enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and alarm subsidiary dial, the 8 day movement with two hammers striking to a bell and repeat mechanism, with strike, silent and quarter lever in base, serial number 5967 to backplate, the case engraved with initials 'S.M.F', with winder, height 17cm inc. handle. *CR Movement seized (does not wind), repeat mechanism working, surface wear to case, cracks to dial, glass replaced to door, minute hand replaced. NB Was last serviced in 1998.

POOLE, BENJAMIN. Coventry: Its History & Antiquities compiled by Benjamin Poole and Illustrated by W. Fred Taunton with sixty exquisite tinted etchings, fac-similes, maps, etc. John Russell Smith [London, 1870]. With internal folding maps to front and rear, content appears complete. Expected tone spots throughout. Plus, folding supplement for The Coventry Times and Warwickshire Journal (November 14th, 1888), displaying a suggestive design for a New Bell Tower.
Mahogany longcase clock, hood with three ball finials, turned columns, trunk with long door, bracket feet, twelve inch archaed brass with with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, moonphase to the lunertte, signed John Morse, Southampton, eight day movement striking on a bell, 240cm, with pendulum and two weights.Condition report:The hour hand has become detached. There are splits to the veneer on the hood and cracks to various parts of the hood, body and base. One the columns had a rough flat back and is missing some wood at the top. There are some minor losses to the top of the hood. One of the brass finials is slightly bent. The lock appears to have been replaced. Please see additional uploaded images.
Scottish mahogany longcase clock, hood with arched top and ball finial, trunk with long door, bracket feet, twelve inch circular silvered dial with subsidiary seconds dial; signed Bryson, Edinburgh, eight day movement striking on a bell, 210cm.Condition report:The mechanism appears complete but it doesn't strike when provisionally set up in the saleroom and the pendulum drags against the backboard (could be just not level in the saleroom). No evident worm. Some losses of moulding to the case. Some splash marks and historic dents/ notches. The case and hood are filthy - retrieved from an outbuilding - and would instantly lift with a decent sympathetic clean.
William IV mixed wood longcase clock, hood with bird finial, swan neck pediment, turned columns, trunk with short door, bracket feet, fourteen inch arched brass dial signed Henry Higginbotham, Macclesfield, rocking ship to the lunette, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, eight day movement striking on a bell, 240cm, with two weights, pendulum and winding key.Condition report:It appears to be working on quickly assembly in the saleroom although would benefit from being professionally installed. Some tarnishing and wear to the silvered chapter ring. The painted arch is good and the galleon moves with the seconds. Some old spot repairs to the case but generally well presented. No key for the trunk and so the door swings open at present.
