1st millennium BC. A rectangular silver plaque bearing a repoussé image of Gilgamesh standing facing, arms reaching upwards at a 45 degree angle to the body, detailing to his horns, face, muscular torso and calves, wrap around the waist, bell-shaped symbol between his legs, low-relief pelletted border above and below; three applied tubular loops to the perimeter. 4.57 grams, 55mm (2 1/4"). Property of a London gentleman; before that in the private collection of a Kensington collector; previously in the collection of Mrs Petra Schamelman, Breitenbach, Germany; acquired from the collection of Fernand Adda, formed in the 1920s-1930s. The Adda family, originally from Alexandria, formed the majority of their collection in the 1920s-1930s. Abraham Adda (b. circa 1855) had three sons, Victor (b. circa 1885-1965) a collector of coins, Iznik and ancient Egyptian objects; Fernand, a collector of Iznik ceramics, and Joseph. The collection has been situated in Europe since before the Second World War. Possibly a pendant or furniture element. Fine condition.
Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD. A pair of glazed ceramic attendants, each modelled in the round standing on a hexagonal plinth, one carrying a rectangular offering plate, the other a bell-shaped dish, with separately modelled capped heads. 5.9 kg total, 46.5-47cm (18 1/4 - 18 1/2"). Ex West Country collection, Bath, Somerset, UK, 1970-2000s. [2] Fair condition.
A 19th century figured mahogany longcase clock by Telford of Wigton, the 32 cm wide painted dial with Roman numerals, calendar aperture and moon phase to arch, to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell contained in case with scroll cresting, turned pillars to hood and trunk. 220 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains. We have not had the clock running but when weight is applied to both trains it does appear to tick and strike. We have the winding key and both weights. We do not appear to have the pendulum. The case is in generally good condition. The top right hand roundel to the swans neck pediment is missing. There is some minor polish to the left hand side of the case where the door at some point has been Sellotaped shut. The hood door is not warped. The trunk door is also not warped and as with the rest of the case is generally figured. The base has some old water splash marks but is in generally good condition as are the sides and the rear boards.
A Victorian gold marquise shaped onyx brooch,with a marquise cabochon onyx, in a cut down collet set to the centre, with an applied star, grain set with an old cut diamond cluster. To an outer row of split pearls in cut down collets, with pin, 'C' catch and glazed locket verso. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. A French ormolu eight day figural mantel clock, signed Leroi a Paris, the case surmounted by a chariot driven by a winged cherub pulled by a pair of butterflies, the white enamelled clock dial forming the wheel, on rectangular plinth raised on lion paw feet, the clock striking on a bell on the hour and half-hour, on oval wooden stand, clock measures 31cm long by 13cm wide by 28cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The original glass dome for this clock is present but sadly it is cracked.
A Minton Majolica jardiniere of rounded form of turquoise ground, the upper rim & shoulder with coloured bell-flower, Vitruvian scroll, & fret borders, laurel wreath ring handles tied with pink ribbon bows, on spiral-fluted round pedestal foot, 14” wide x 12½” high; impressed marks & year cypher for 1868. (Chip to upper rim, chip to loop of one bow).

Interesting Royal Air Force (R.A.F.) medal group and ephemera relating to Air Commodore Cedric Arnold Bell. Bell was born on 14th September 1905 in Hackney, London. He was commissioned into the RAF at the rank of Pilot Officer, aged 19, in January 1925, going on to serve as a pilot in 16 Squadron. Throughout the 1920s and '30s Bell rose up the ranks of the RAF as he attended signals courses and moved to Farnborough, as the Second World War began Bell was appointed a Wing Commander in 1940. Shortly after this, Wing Commander Bell travelled to America where he was head of the Radio Section, Technical Department, British Air Commission, Washington. His work in America saw him awarded the Legion of Merit in 1943. Bell returned from his success in America to become a Staff Officer - Radar, HQ Bomber Command. Appointed Air Commadore in 1949, Bell finally retired from the RAF in 1953 as a Senior Air Staff Officer, HQ No 90 (Signals) Group.Included in the lot is Cedric Bell's original Service Commission from 1925, medals comprising Second World War Defence Medal, Second World War War Medal, Elizabeth II Coronation Medal and American Legion of Merit (mounted on bar) together with miniature medals, framed citation from the award of the Legion of Merit, visitor badge from The Glenn L. An 18th century bell metal pillar candlestick of architectural design, with stepped square base, 23 cm high, and a 19th century Toleware oval two handled tray printed and painted with continental views and flowers. 40 cm x 29 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The candlestick is a good example and generally in good overall condition although there is significant wear and rubbing to the column. The Toleware tray is scuffed and worn and has some slight rusting.
