1st-4th century AD. A mixed group of items consisting of: two leaf shaped arrowheads; a bronze duck with recess to the back; a bronze bell with integral loop shaped handle; a cross bar from a pair of scales with projecting bosses to the centre and leaf shaped terminals, a clay mould for a bust of an empress wearing robes and with diadem to hair. 682 grams, 6.5-19cm (2 1/2 - 7 1/2). From a private collection formed in the 1990s. [6, No Reserve]. Fine condition.
An ormolu striking mantel clock, circa 1890, the elaborate case with floral and figural mounts, enamel dial with Roman numerals, twin barrel movement striking on a bell, 42cm high27.04.16, Ormolu is faded and the surfaces appear to have been re-lacquered, dial with cracks, movement is dirty and needs cleaning, pendulum is missing.

dating: 19th Century provenance: Turkey, Octagonal, rifled, 15 mm cal. barrel, in damask, provided with brass fore-sight and cusp-shaped sight with two holes, bearing thin, gilded, silver-inlaid floral motifs at the base; slightly bell-mouthed nozzle, with similar inlays. Barrel's tang is silver-plated and engraved with rinceaux, surrounded by silver plaque, decorated en suite. Fine, briar-root stock (one veining and small restorations). Miquelet lock with remains of inlaid spirals. Butt of a typical, square shape, decorated with silver plaques, pierced with flowers, then with green and bone frames and bands inlaid with geometrical motifs, bearing a thick, metallic band with rounded decoration, and finely with a large area bearing a typical disk decoration with stars and nails, butt-plate with another frame, provided with silver sphere, decorated with flowers. Other mounts in silver, partially pierced. Cusp-shaped, spheroid, iron trigger, at the bottom an iron plate engraved with floral motifs, silver-plated barrels brackets. Bone-tipped wooden ramrod. length 104 cm.
dating: 19th Century provenance: Afghanistan, Round, smooth, 13 mm cal. barrel, ribbed in the centerline at the base and with floral carvings, for almost all the length bearing back raisers and decoration to imitate the damask; slightly bell-mouthed nozzle with floral carvings. Cusp-shaped sight at the base, smooth tang. Iron flintlock with rampant lion engraved on the lock plate. Wooden, long stock with typical butt, strongly curved and decorated with mother-of-pearl inlays. Trigger without trigger guard. Brass barrel bracket, iron ramrod. length 140 cm.

Iron, morlach lock. Wooden, full stock, butt sides chiselled with geometrical motifs and adorned with two metallic, relieved rosettes. Iron bands partially wood-covered around the lock and on borders, brass butt-plated engraved with floral motifs. Trigger without trigger guard. Brass bands, one with sight, the others engraved with flowers, one long, brass band that covers the back part of the stock. Iron ramrod. length 142 cm.
dating: Early 19th Century provenance: India, Smooth, round, 13 mm cal. barrel, completely chiselled with bass-relieved figures, animal and floral motifs, base with pan and rear sight, slightly bell-mouthed nozzle with grooves; matchlock with iron, engraved lock plate; wooden, full stock (small damages and parts missing) completely painted with floral motifs (small restorations), bone-inlaid butt. dating: circa 1800 provenance: France, Smooth, two-stage barrels, octagonal in the first part, one of the two barrels with engraved and gilded frames and spirals on the browned background, both with rings at the girdle; second part with bell-mouthed nozzle and moulded muzzle. Lock with a slightly rounded, smooth lock plate (one with some pitting at the cock). Wooden, full stocks adorned with thin floral inlays at the grip. Iron mounts. Butt-plated with thin decorations, inlaid with undulated lines around the tangs. Iron-tipped, dark color ramrods, both complete with iron cartridge extractors. length 29 cm.
dating: Second half of the 18th Century provenance: Mexico, Smooth, two-stage barrel, octagonal until the half, with rings in the center, then round with strongly bell-mouthed nozzle; vent with gilded border, breech with molded decoration, smooth tang. Flintlock with floral engraving at the base of the cock. Some slight pitting on the iron parts. Wooden, full stock with typical thick grip with flat bottom and small lug on the back. Butt sides both featuring a big silver mount finely engraved and pierced with grotesques and monstrous animals that turn into flowers, round of nails around the plate. Similar decoration, silver as well, surrounds barrel's tang, pierced with flowers and leaves. Long plate, completely silver, covers almost all the lower part of the arm, and integrates the trigger guard, silver as well. Also these decorations are surrounded by nails. Silver butt-plate, engraved with rocaille, smooth counter plate. Front part of the stock with three bands and silver barrel bracket further to lateral engraved plates. Provenance: Spain or Mexico. length 37,5 cm.
dating: 18th Century provenance: Europe, Iron, smooth, two-stage barrel, octagonal and round, with bell-mouthed nozzle of circular section. Flintlock with slightly roundish lock plate. Wooden, full stock. Butt with deep grooves and chiseled with roses, floral carving around barrel's tang. Thin engraved frames in the front part. Brass mounts, one shield at the base, trigger guard without loop. Iron ramrod. length 80,5 cm.
dating: Third quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Germany, Octagonal, rifled, 15 mm cal. barrel signed 'GEORG KALB', rear sight with fixed and one folding notch, slightly bell-mouthed nozzle. Barrel can be swiveling by laterally pushing the release handle (placed in front of the trigger guard) and pulling downwards. Pan and batterie mounted together with specific extractable breech, adapted to contain the cartridge for rapid charging. Lock plate is slightly roundish, cock shaped as swan's neck. Wooden, smooth butt. Iron mounts. Wooden fore-end, with iron-tipped ramrod. length 109 cm.

dating: 19th Century provenance: North Africa, Long, octagonal, smooth, 16 mm cal. barrel, slightly bell-mouthed at the nozzle, provided with fore-sight and brass sight, decorated with thick, longitudinal raisers at the side angles, with a thin central rib featuring an undulated carving, remains of silver rinceau inlays and square stamp at the base. Miquelet lock partially plated with silver foils, decorated with rinceaux. Wooden, long stock. On both butt's sides a big silver-plated plaque, pierced and engraved with floral motifs and enriched with coral cabochon. At the back other silver-plated plaques, decorated en suite and with coral cabochon, so as in the bottom part and along the sides.
