An unusual late 19th century French amboyua and cut-brass inlaid table casket in the Secessionist style, the hinged bell shaped top enclosing a birch lined interior, the base decorated panels depicting figures from Hans Christen Andersen novels, flanked by fielded panels of arabesques, raised on a flared plinth base, block feet. H. 21 cm, W. 34 cm, D. 24 cm.
A Victorian mahogany cased hydrometer by Buss of Hatton Garden, sold together with a small bakelite cased set of weights, a wooden mallet, a Wade Bell and Son whisky flask, a contemporary clock and barometer mounted to single board, an iron match holder modelled as a cat with hinged head, and a cast bronze roundel, with relief of a Roman soldier. Marriage Settlement, October 1763. Complex and extensive Marriage Settlement Vellum Deed relating to the Gery and Bell families residing in Eaton Socon, Bushmead and Bedford in Bedfordshire. The deed also refers to land and property in Thurleigh and Milton Ernest, also in Bedfordshire. This is an extensive document comprising 7 large sheets measuring 86cm by 68cm. Other names appearing on the signatories section are Towersy, Welby and Birt together with wax seals. CONDITION REPORT: Vg.
