Peter Gethin joined them following the death of Pedro Rodriguez that summer and then won his second race for them, the Italian GP, by the closest ever F1 winning margin of 0.010 seconds, a race that with his winning speed of 150.755mph is still the second fastest F1 race ever run. Jo Siffert was later killed in the last race of the season at Brands Hatch. Signed at the Peter Gethin Performance Driving School at Goodwood during the 1990s. Canadian businessman Walter Wolf purchased Frank Williams' F1 team at the end of 1976 and with his financial support the team was able to sign Jody Scheckter from Tyrrell as its driver. Surprisingly they won the first Grand Prix of 1977 and two further victories ensured second place in the World Drivers Championship. Jody Scheckter eventually became World Champion with Ferrari in 1979. Although Bellof and Bell won this event the previous year, they only finished 10th in 1984, yet Bellof still went on to become World Endurance Champion. That year the German also moved into Formula 1, but his career was then cut tragically short when he died in a huge accident during the 1985 Spa 1000 Kms.

A mixed group of miniature blackware ceramic vessels of Magna Graecian (Apulian) workmanship, comprising: a kantharos with carinated body, everted rim, two strap handles and red geometric boarder to the shoulder; three oenochoe juglets with trefoil mouths, strap handles and discoid feet, one with a swan motif, one with a warrior running left holding a weapon, and one with a band of scrolled tendrils; a bell krater with two handles and a palmette to each face. 200 grams total, 57-76mm (2 1/4 - 3"). Property of a Surrey, UK, gentleman; formerly with Andre de Munter Gallery, Brussels, Belgium; previously in a collection formed 1970-1980; accompanied by three illustrated certificates of authenticity from Andre de Munter. 8th-10th century AD. A set of gilt horse harness fittings and mounts including an iron bit with gilt fittings; a sheet-metal gilt socket fitting depicting a series of seven roundels around the base each with a human, animal or bird figure and with quatrefoil mounts rivetted to the perimeter, perhaps to support a banner or similar at forehead or crupper; a small rectangular gilt buckle bow; seven gilt openwork teardrop harness pendants, one with a small bell suspended and three with in situ hangers plus four further hangers and remnants of another five bells; a group of forty-seven circular gilt harness studs each with rivet projecting to reverse; together with a substantial quantity of small quatrefoil gilt harness mounts, similar to those affixed to the socket described above, each with rivet projection to reverse. 325 grams total, 4-100mm (1/4 - 4"). A gold pendant with round-section hoop with coiled wire terminals, free-running pendant with coiled loop and bell-shaped sleeve bearing stamped circles and triangles, applied twisted wire ring below, holding a cluster of green crystals. 6.23 grams, 45mm (1 3/4"). From a central London collection; previously in a European collection formed 1979-1989. [No Reserve] Fine condition.

A hollow-formed gilt-bronze figure of Buddha sitting cross-legged with bell in one hand, vajra in the other, scrolled mantle to the shoulders; inset with glass(?) studs and cabochons. 2.5 kg, 27.5cm (10 3/4"). From a collection of Buddhist art, London, UK; formed since 1990. Fine condition.
4th century BC. An Apulian red-figure oinochoe with ovoid body in orange clay, matte black paint, disc foot, decorated with a wave pattern on the neck, and a figure of a hermaphrodite with open wings, naked, seated on a diphros with his right arm outstretched to collect dew with a bowl from the bell-shaped flowers in front of him; on the reverse a stylised representation of a palmette twig. See for similar oinochoe Greco, E., Guzzo, G., Laos II, la tomba a camera di Marcellina, Taranto, 1992, no.65, pl.XX, no.3. 165 grams, 18.2cm (7 1/4"). Property of a private collector; previously acquired on the UK art market in the 1980s. This oinochoe imitates the Apulian shape I of Trendall classification, but it is most probably from a South Italian Greek workshop. It incorporates elements from the Apulian ceramic tradition, maybe mediated through Lucanian red-figure production. An Apulian red-figure oinochoe with ovoid body, in orange clay, matte black paint, disc foot, decorated with a wave pattern on the neck, and a figure of a woman dressed in sleeveless chiton, the head crowned by a diadem and the kekryphalos, necklace and double armillae on the forearms, a mirror in the left hand, seated on a diphros with his right arm outstretched to collect dew with a bowl from the bell-shaped flowers in front of her; on the reverse a stylised representation of a palmette twig. Property of a private collector; previously acquired on the UK art market in the 1980s. This oinochoe is the product of a local workshop of the Magna Graecia, imitating the Apulian shape 1 of Trendall. It is a red-figure ceramic from a local workshop, perhaps from Lucania. A French gilt mantle clock set with porcelain panels, the case decorated by a seated artist, the movement striking on a bell, the dial signed Bell of Wisbech, complete with a matching gilt stand and dome base, the clock, 26cm wide x 32cm high.Condition report: The case with some minor marks, the movement with pendulum and an associated key, the stands with marks and faded silk. The artists brush damaged and the right hand porcelain panel loose in its mount.
