Cycling history: a 1941 Dawes Cycles Ltd. `Comfort Tourist` bicycle with original components and original Dawes five year guarantee card. Provenance in the form of a 2001 newspaper article about the former owner of the bike, purchased in 1941 for £10 and 11 shillings. Components include: Sturmey Archer GH6 Front dynohub, with maintenance instructions; original Brooks leather saddle and springs; J.H Hopkins of Birmingham `Supermont` saddle bag; Lucas rear reflector; Bluemels `Featherweight` rear mudguard and pump; Michelin `World Tour` tyres; Dunlop wheels; Joseph Lucas Ltd of Birmingham `King of the World` cyclometer; handlebars with patent no. 340856; Miller British Made bell. This bicycle was still being ridden on a daily basis in 2013.

Barrow, the arched and moulded cresting with three squirrel finials, pierced brass frieze, pierced side panels, split turned columns to hood, the arched trunk door with shaped lentical glass, 79ins high Note : George Etherington recorded as admitted to the Clockmakers company 1684, Master 1709, Died 1729. Engraved brass plaque to inside of case provides full provenance - maker of case and an ancestor of vendor
A rare Marklin gauge 3 clockwork trackside bell. In the style of a light house, painted in leaf green with yellow bands, suspended chrome bell to top with clockwork action. Mounted on a tinplate maroon coloured base with variable extending track for remote control operation. GC for age. See Plate 1

A 19th Century (probably French) brass cased four glass mantle clock the case with two single doors, four reeded columns on plinth base. The circular white enamel chapter ring with black Roman numerals, the recessed central section with two winding apertures and visible escapement. The movement striking on a bell with solid brass pendulum. The backplate stamped H. P. & Co., with serial numbers 2606 and 23627, 31cm high x 18cm x 13.5cm
A 19th Century Swiss musical box, the ten air movement with bells in vue, housed in a later or much restored mahogany and inlaid case, 43.5 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Exterior appears to have been refurbished and possibly re-finished, exterior with various knocks and scuffs, interior has been re-painted black, interior generally with dirt, grease and tarnish, the music box does play a tune, and the bells do ring, however it is not known whether or not it is in full working order, butterfly and bell decoration may also have been re-painted, printed paper to interior of lid with various tears and losses, and with drawing pins.
A 19th Century mahogany cased longcase clock, the plain top with moulded edge over an arched glazed door and plain trunk with quartered side pilasters on a plain base, the eight day movement with anchor escapement striking on a bell, with painted arched dial, the chapter ring with Roman numerals enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial and date dial inscribed "Wm Hewson Lincoln" (1828-61), 211 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Comments regarding the dial/movement only: Dial feet bent; holes in movement have been enlarged - indicating a possible marriage.
An early 18th Century walnut cased longcase clock, the arched hood with blind fretwork frieze above an arched glazed panelled door flanked by turned tapering brass capped pilasters, the main body with arched panelled door and feather banding on similarly decorated base with plain plinth, the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, Arabic and Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture on a matted ground within mask head and applied floral scrolling spandrels, to the arched strike/silent dial with applied dolphin and floral scroll decoration to an eight day striking movement on a bell, inscribed "John Ellicot, London", 244 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS Hands with some mis-shaping and scratching. Not known whether movement is in working order. Case with new mouldings to base and door, various areas of patched in veneer, movement appears to be OK but strike silent has been altered, brass cased weights, case with general wear and scuffs, numerous areas of age splits and cracks to the veneers (probably due to movement in carcass and to ageing/drying) including a lot of splits around the base, to door, sides, etc. Several areas of moulding missing and several areas of moulding warped and/or lifting, some areas of veneer missing. Some losses to the carcass to rear. Various cracks, splits and losses to the carved frieze to the hood and some sections of moulding missing. Some wear and scuffs to dial with scratches and tarnish. This lot is from a private vendor and was inherited from grandparents as a family piece by the current vendor. Ellicot is spelt with one t on the inscription to the dial.
A George III mahogany longcase clock, the arched moulded cornice with central vacant cartouche, glazed door flanked by fluted pilasters to a shaped trunk door flanked by three quarter pilaster columns to a fielded panelled base on ogee bracket feet, the arched dial with silvered chapter ring, Arabic and Roman numerals, engraved matted centre with secondary dial to the arch and moon phase inscribed "James Foster, Sutton" to an eight day striking movement on a bell, 242 cm high (case very damaged and with losses throughout - for restoration) CONDITION REPORTS Case very damaged throughout and with losses - for restoration. Clock is broken into numerous pieces and currently some parts of it are propped up in order to give an idea of its appearance. There are some parts of the clock case and hood missing. Wear, scuffs, knocks and chips, damage and losses. Door with cracks and losses. Large areas of moulding missing, and various sections missing. Splits and breaks. Bracket foot base with chips and losses and, as with the rest of the clock, it is broken, cracked and separated at joins. Cracks and various age cracks throughout including to pilasters. Some old worm holes. Some chips and losses and sections missing. Some dirt and mould to surfaces. Mould to interior., and lock appears to be missing. Some losses to mouldings. Moon face with quite a lot of scuffs, scratches and losses to decoration. Dial generally with quite heavy wear, scuffs, scratches and tarnish. Pendulum with rusting and tarnish and fitments loose. Weights appear to have repairs / . additional areas of metal added. No etched glass panels. Arched top (not swan neck pediment) and one side of top (arched) section appears to be missing. The two tall fluted pilasters which would fit either side of the door are present, but some sections (eg capitals) appear to be missing. Please see photos. There is no provenance available with this lot.
