Provenance: from the collection of Ralph Pike, a British customs officer in China, who returned to South West England in 1934, and thence by descent.

An American Coin Silver Cup Retailed by Bell & Bros. San Antonio, Probably New York, circa 1879Marks: BELL & BRO'S, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS3-3/8 x 4 x 3-3/4 inches (8.7 x 10.2 x 9.5 cm)156 grams The tapered cup with band at rim and base inscribed within elaborate bright-cut cartouche to front C. M. S. FROM E. D. S., Dec 25 79, cast C-form handle with bifurcated top and outstretched wings supporting the handle base, handle having a female medallion to one side and a male medallion to the reserve.The cup is inscribed to Charlotte Matilda Sidbury (1830-1904) from Edward D. Sidbury (1838 -1881), who were married in 1875. Edward was a contractor and owner of a lumber supply company. Following their marriage, Charlotte sold her ranch and focused on Edward's business interests, and after his death continued to manage the lumber company in Corpus Christie, Alice, San Diego and Laredo, Texas. Subsequently, as a prominent business woman and civic leader, she became the first female to serve as director of the Corpus Christi National Bank. The Greek revival home, which Edward built for Charlotte prior to their marriage, is now located in Heritage Park, Corpus Christi, and is identified with a Texas Historical Marker as the Sidbury-Savage House. Rick Brookes (British political cartoonist, b.1948) 'I always wondered what a deputy Prime Minister did', 7/7/95 Limited edition political cartoon print Signed and dated, numbered 9/50 41.5cm x 52cm Provenance: Property from a Hampshire country estate Signed by numerous politicians and British Prime Ministers including including Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, William Hague, John Major, Glenda Jackson, Alistair Darling, Edward Heath, Ken Livingstone, George Robertson, Jeffrey Archer, Martin Bell, Paddy Ashdown, Gordon Blair, Mo Mowlem, Derry Irvine, Jon Snow and others. Rick Brookes was a staff cartoonist for the Evening Standard from 1977, signing his cartoons ‘Brook’ so he would not be confused with The Times cartoonist, Peter Brookes. In 1994, Brook replaced Giles as the cartoonist at the Daily Express, moving to the Sun in 1996. Brookes's cartoons were especially popular in Metro with his cartoon strip 'THIS LIFE'. Only a few originals have survived from Brookes's time at the Daily Express, as he destroyed the vast majority of them after he left the paper.

DURSLEY PEDERSEN GENTLEMAN'S BICYCLE. A c1910 size 4 machine in fine, rideable condition, having a restored saddle, correct springs and leather strap, three-speed SA gearing with a correct quadrant change, correct front and rear centre-pull block braking operated by inverted levers attached to semi down-turn handlebars and period grips, Westwood rims and good tyres, 7-inch cranks and sports rat-trap pedals, rear hub mounting step and a green enamel frame. Other features include a rare front DP rack, brass to style, narrow section pump, Lucas double-ring bell, and a correct and period down tube leather tool pouch.
A 1930'S CROWN DEVON MUSICAL 'DAISY BELL' PITCHER and two matching tankards, the sides moulded with the scenes of Daisy and her bridegroom, and the rear bearing an underglaze transfer of the popular lyrics. A JAPANESE SHIGARAKI OKIMONO OF A TANUKI ON A MOKUGYO MODERN, 20TH CENTURY The racoon-dog depicted clambering upon a giant temple bell, wearing monk's robes and holding a hossu fly-whisk in its left paw, 19.5cm. Provenance: from the collection of the late Gas Kimishima, wood-fire potter and specialist in the ancient kilns of Japan, purchased in Japan and thence by descent. Gas established his studio in England and built his own anagama kiln in Tring, Hertfordshire.
