A brass barrelled and brass framed flintlock boxlock blunderbuss pistol with spring bayonet by Gill, c 1785, 12½” overall, integral bell mouth barrel 7” with Tower private proofs, left side with ramrod pipes and horn ramrod, and with 6½” spring bayonet beneath released by a rear trigger housed in the elongated trigger guard, frame engraved with panels of swags containing flower head and “Gill” in script, plain rounded walnut butt with brass grotesque mask butt cap and vacant oval escutcheon. Good Working Order and Condition (bayonet pitted, light rust to steel parts, the butt has traces of old repairs). Plate 18 Note: Gill worked in Birmingham from 1744 to 1800 and had addresses in London at Charing Cross and Strand.

A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss with spring bayonet, by Richards c 1785, 30” overall, bell mouth barrel 14½” with Tower private proofs and with top mounted 13½” triangular bayonet released by thumb catch on the breech tang, signed stepped lock with safety bolt and large roller on the frizzen spring, walnut fullstock with engraved brass mounts including trigger guard with pineapple finial and vacant escutcheon. Good Working Order and Condition (safety bolt spring AF, steel ramrod an old replacement). Plate 19

A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss with spring bayonet, by Ketland & Co, c 1790, 31” overall, bell mouth barrel 15½” with octagonal breech bearing London and maker’s proofs, 9” triangular bayonet beneath released by a catch in front of the trigger guard and with ramrod pipes on the left side housing a steel ramrod, the large flat stepped lock with typical Ketland & Co signature in script, the walnut halfstock with carved apron around breech tang and brass mounts. Good Working Order and Condition (slight damage to fore end, the bayonet catch fails to fully engage with the bayonet) Plate 19

A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss, by Hutchinson, Dublin, c 1790, 30” overall, bell mouth barrel 14½” with octagonal breech engraved “Dublin” and stamped with registration numbers, flat signed lock with scroll engraving, walnut fullstock with brass mounts including trigger guard with acorn finial and oval escutcheon with entwined initials, and with brass tipped ramrod. Good Working Order and basically Good Condition (lock pitted, some wear overall). Plate 19

A Fine French Louis XV Style GIlt Bronze Mantel Clock. The movement striking a bell and stamped Vincenti et Cie Medaille d'Argent and set in a black patinated globe with gilt Roman numeral hour counters and engraved serpent pointers. The globe surmounted by a pair of gilded lovebirds and festooned in garlands of flowers, raised on a pedestal of swirling clouds with Cupids bow and quiver of arrows to the base. The white marble D-ended base edged on gilt beading and terminating on toupee feet, 19½ ins (50 cms) in height.

A Pair of Late 19th Century Plum Pudding Mahogany and Ormolu Mounted Bedside Cabinets in the Louis XVI Style. The oval cabinets each having a brêche green marble top above a frieze drawer and bow fronted cupboard edged in wrythen beading and adorned with quartered rosettes to the corners. The pilasters mounted with paterae above pendant garlands of flowers, raised on stop fluted legs with spurs of bell-flowers rising up the flutes and united by on oval quarter veneered undershelf. The cabinet interiors lined in marble, 29½ ins (75 cms) hgih, 16½ ins x 13¾ ins (42 cms x 35 cms).

A Late 19th Century French Boulle-work Mantel Clock by Potonie, Paris. The movement striking a bell with a white enamel dial in a drum surround mounted above a glass fronted case enclosing the brass pierced and engraved pendulum. The case elaborately decorated with scrolling brass inlay on a red tortoiseshell ground, 16½ ins (42 cms) in height.

A Collection of Chinese Miscellaneous: Three small oval framed figural paintings 4½ ins x 3¼ ins (11.5 cms x 8 cms). A Republican plant pot and drainer. A baluster vase decorated with delicate enamelled boughs of blossom on a grey glazed ground and having a Qianlong dynasty mark to the base, 8 ins (20 cms) in height. A bell shaped flask decorated in polychrome enamels with flowers and foliage in ruyi borders, 7½ ins (19 cms) in height.

The grey veined Carrara marble top having a moulded edge above a carved & gessoed base with traces of gilding beneath the paintwork. The gadrooned edge with foliate lappets above a central scrolled cartouche apron piece flanked by foliage. The Rococo legs composed of foliate carved C-scrolls embellished with pendant bell flowers and terminating on voluted feet, 36¼ ins (92.5 cms) high, 80 ins (203 cms) wide, 22 ins (56 cms) deep.

A Fine 19th Century Bone Inlaid Ebonised Stand. The serpentine edged top inlaid with an allegorical roundel enriched with finely detailed pen-work and having a swept under-edge with foliate sprouting stringing and pendant bell-flower inlay. The tapered hexagonal support raised on three silhouette cut scrolling block legs, 34 ins (87 cms) high, 14½ ins (37 cms) wide.

A Fabulous Quality Victorian Silver Chiming Mantel Clock by Mackay Cunningham & Co. hallmarked Edinburgh 1877. The case elaborately engraved with scrolling decoration and having a fretted pediment swept up in the centre and surmounted a female figure with cockerel and bell, 12½ ins (32 cms) high,7 ins (18 cms) wide.

VERY RARE ALIEN BLASTER ; an original 1970's HG Toys Alien Blaster Giant Target Set shooting game made in the USA. Within the original box, the game appearing mostly complete with clips, gun and original instructions. The large cardboard standup alien having bell target to centre with moving hands and head. c1979. Dubbed 'one of the rarest toys on the planet' this was originally issued prior to the release of the 1979 film Alien. 20th Century Fox had sold toy companies the licenses to market games and figures based upon the script. Of course, the final film turned out to be far from child-friendly so toy companies ceased production. This is a rare survivor from a very short production period.
