Two Edwardian Silver Comports. One engraved with a basket of fruit suspended from a ribbon bow festooned in garlands of bell flowers and raised on a flared pedestal foot, hallmarked Birmingham 1915 with W.A. maker's initials. The other with a pierced foliate scroll border and flared pedestal foot hallmarked Birmingham 1921.
An Austro-Hungarian Silver Gilt Table Bell. The rams headed s-scroll finial with clover leaf terminal surmounting a cobalt blue enamelled column embellished with sea pearl collars. The ornately decorated bell engraved with a basket weave ground and having raised scroll work encrusted with turquoise studs. 5 ins (12.5 cms) in height.
A Napoleon III Gilt Bronze Clock Set by Jean à Rennes. The drum case having an ornately cast gilt bronze dial inset with enamelled numeral cartouches beneath a convex glass door with a bevelled edge and lobed border. The raised pedestal top surmounted by an urn with flame finial above lavishly scrolling sides bearing caryatids festooned in garlands of bell flowers. The break front elongated oval base centred by a cartouche and raised on flared pedestal and paw feet. 17 ins (43 cms) in height, 7½ ins x 23½ ins (19 cms x 62 cms). The matching electrified candelabra having four lights with white opaque glass candle-form sheathes. The s-scroll branches enriched with foliage above flared & fluted columns; the bulbous centres applied with female face masks wearing feather head dresses. Standing on circular bases with paw feet. 27 ins (69 cms) in height, 9½ ins (24 cms) in width.
An Exuberant Louis XVI Style Cloisonné & Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock, having an eight day movement striking a bell. The cloisonné dial set in a round cushion-front case with a gilt brass beaded border surmounted by an urn finial elevated on square column and flanked by winged caryatids; their torsos rising from lavish scrolls of foliage with voluted terminals. The flared rectangular cloisonné pedestal adorned with a satyr's face mask above a break- ended plinth base raised on gilt bronze acanthus leaves terminating with lion paw feet, 20 ins (51 cms) in height.
A Fine Quality George III Mahogany Bracket Clock circa 1785 by Thomas Laidlaw (1770-96), London. The eight day double fusee movement striking a bell. The silvered chapter ring with matted centre housing a calendar aperture and inscribed Laidlaw, London. The arched top having a Strike/Silent dial bordered by gilt brass spandrels. The back plate ornately carved with a basket of flowers encompassed by scrolls of undulating foliage; with similarly engraved brackets & backcock. The richly patinated case having a raised top with carrying handle and concave sides with pineapple finials at each corner. The glazed door bound in brass moulding and having two brass sound frets flanked by canted corners applied with pendant garlands. Standing on gilt brass ogee feet. 21 ins (53 cms) in height, 12 ins (31 cms) wide, 8 ¼ ins (21 cms) deep.
A Fine 19th Century Giltwood Fire Screen with a glazed silk chinoiserie embroidered panel. The gilt frame ornamented with a beaded edge and scroll-carved inner border. The twin-leg supports carved at the hip with bell flowers and crested scroll sides. 42½ (108 cms) in height, 28 ins x 17 ins (71 cms x 43 cms).

The seat rails painted with further floriate embellishments and standing on square tapering legs with spade feet.
An Impressive Sheraton Revival Satinwood Console Table. The beautifully ripple grained top with a cross banded border meeting the carved foliate giltwood edge above two frieze drawers enriched with anthemion motifs and centred by a painted cherubic panel. The flanking protruding rams heads festooned with bell flowers above tapering legs enhanced with bell flower carved in panels and terminating on spade feet. 37 ins (94 cms) in height, 54 ins (137 cms) wide 23½ ins (60 cms) deep.

The burr wood top rails issuing rosette terminals with foliage & bell flowers along the swept uprights flanking the urn form central splat. Moilliet Rous a Geneve. A quarter repeating gold pair cased pocket watch, the white enamel dial having black Arabic numerals, shaped gold hands and signed 'Moilliet Rous', the chain fusee movement having a verge escapement with a plain three arm brass balance, a pierced and engraved backcock, a silvered regulation dial and signed 'Moilliet Rous a Geneve, 1256', repeating the hour and last quarter on a bell with two hammers, the cover similarly signed and numbered, having a plain inner case and tortoiseshell outer with pique work to the edges, diameter 55mm. * Moilliet Rous is recorded as working in Geneva, Switzerland in the mid to late 1700's.
Charles Cabrier, London. A half-quarter repeating silver pair cased pocket watch, the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, Arabic outer numerals, later blued steel spade hands and signed 'Cabrier, London', the chain fusee movement having Egyptian pillars, a verge escapement with a plain three arm brass balance, a pierced and engraved backcock, a silvered regulation dial and signed 'Cabrier, London', repeating the hour, last quarter and last half-quarter on a bell with two hammers, having an engraved inner case and a pierced and repousse outer case, diameter 48mm. * For details of Cabrier see Lot No. 339
A late Victorian French carriage clock, the eight-day duration movement having a platform lever escapement and striking the hours and half hours on a bell with push button repeat, the backplate stamped with the maker's initials and serial number 'G.R. 338', the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands and signed by the retailer 'Howell & James Ltd, To The Queen, London', contained in a corniche style case, complete with original numbered key, height 15cm.
Henri Lemaille. A late 19th century engraved brass carriage clock, the eight-day duration movement having a platform lever escapement and striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the backplate numbered '2225' with the frontplate stamped 'H.L.' being the initials of the clockmaker Henri Lemaille, the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals and blued steel moon hands, contained in a foliate engraved corniche case, height 17cm. * Henri Lemaille was one of the best of the French Victorian roulant blanc makers supplying movements to a number of the finest clockmakers of the period including Drocourt and Leroy as well as making finished clocks.
Briant a Paris. A marble and ormolu mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the backplate stamped with the mark of the roulant blanc maker 'Etienne Maxant, Paris', the white enamel dial has black Roman numerals, Arabic outer numerals and signed by the maker 'Briant a Paris', with decorative pierced and engraved gilt brass hands, the ormolu pillar case having classical female figures draped either side, with various ormolu mounts and a frieze to the front depicting putti within a scientific setting, surmounted by a classical urn, all standing on a white marble base inset with further ormolu mounts, height 57cm. * Etienne Maxant is recorded as working at Rue de Saintonge, Paris, in the mid 19th century.
Martinot a Paris. A bronze ormolu mantel clock, having a thirty-hour fusee watch movement repeating the hours on a bell, with a pierced and engraved silver backcock, the backpate engraved with the maker's name 'Gilles Martinot a Paris', the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals and blued steel 'beetle and poker' hands (minute hand missing), the later bronze ormolu case in the form of a bull standing on a base with the clock set above within a floral setting, height 25cm. * Gilles Martinot was a member of the well known Martinot family of Paris clockmakers and is recorded as working in the mid 17th century. A watch by him is in the British Museum.
Japy Freres, Paris. A French ormolu and porcelain mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the blue porcelain dial having black Roman numerals, spade hands and signed 'Miroy Requier & Co', with floral and bird painted decoration to the centre, the ormolu case having applied mounts with lion's head handles to the sides, a blue painted plaque to the front depicting a gentleman and lady on a bridge and surmounted by a painted gilt and blue porcelain urn, height 35cm. * Japy Freres were the most productive of the French movement makers, the business having been started by Frederic Japy in Beaucourt in the late 18th century. * Miroy, Requier & Co were retailers recorded as being in London circa 1875.
A French ormolu and porcelain mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell and stamped to the back with the retailer's name 'Wassell, 43 Fenchurch Street, London', the painted porcelain dial having black Roman numerals, spade hands and floral painted decoration to the centre, the ormolu case having half round sides inset with curved pink porcelain panels decorated with musical representations, a further plaque to the front depicting two cherubs at rest, surmounted by a porcelain urn, height 35cm. * Wassell & Halford are recorded in London circa 1875.
William Flint, Ashford. A mahogany longcase clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the 11in. painted arched dial having black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, blued steel decorative hands and signed within the arch with the maker's name 'Wm. Flint, Ashford', the falseplate to the dial embossed with the dial maker's name 'Walker & Hughes, B/ham', the mahogany case having an arched trunk door, plain base with a shaped plinth, Kentish hood cresting, plain hood pillars with brass capitals and surmounted by three ball and spire finials, height 212cm. * William Flint was born in 1787, the son of William Snr, also a clockmaker to whom he was apprenticed and is recorded as working in Ashford, Kent until his death in 1871. * Walker & Hughes were working in Birmingham from 1811 until 1835.
J. Dumvile, Alderley. An oak and mahogany longcase clock, the thirty-hour duration movement striking the hours on a bell with an outside countwheel, the 12in. square brass dial engraved with Roman hour numerals, Arabic minute numerals and diamond markings with rococo style cast brass spandrels to the four corners, the dial centre having dummy winding holes, date aperture, engraved floral decoration and signed with the maker's name 'Jno Dumvile, Alderley', with blued steel hands, the flat topped oak case having mahogany crossbanding, the base having canted corners and a raised, shaped panel, with quartered fluted columns to the trunk and further fluted pillars, with cast brass capitals to the hood, having a decorative gilt and blue painted frieze to the top, height 206cm. * John Dumville is recorded as working at Nether Alderley, Cheshire. He died in 1797.
