LATE 18TH CENTURY WELSH OAK THIRTY HOUR LONGCASE CLOCK, by John Bowen of Chirk(?), having broken swan neck pediment above square aperture flanked by bobbin turned pilasters, crossbanded rectangular door to the waist on plain base with bracket feet. 12" Square painted dial with date aperture and shell decoration to the spandrels. 30 Hour movement striking on one bell. 85" High overall.
Louis Vidal (1831-1892) French gilt bronze clock garniture of large proportions, modelled in the neo classical style. The drum head clock is surmounted by a Greek Goddess and is supported by two Pegasus being ridden by putti and raised on a carved alabaster plinth mounted with swags and roundels on pad feet housing an eight day movement, chiming half hourly on a bell. The pair of accompanying eight branch candelabra formed as cornucopia supported by dancing cherubs and raised over fluted alabaster column plinth, adorned with floral swags and husk wreaths. Signed Vidal to the dial and works, clock 21.5 high."

Bell and a broadside by Johann Christoph Kolbe § Johann Wilhelm Baur Livre Nouveau de Diverses Nations title and 9 engraved figure groups cut and mounted from 5 of the plates 1636 Pierre Mariette stitched oblong 8vo (2). Condition report: Lacking covers dedication leaf dust-stained others all with surface dust edges frayed right margins with tears and losses extending into 2 plates the last plate with a larger marginal loss.

A good 19th century French ormolu and steel mantle clock by Morel, Paris, the Gothic shaped top with ornate pierced detail and apron supported by 4 fluted steel columns with turreted surmounts and decorative knops flanking a seated medieval couple in an amorous encounter. The 8 day movement striking on a bell with a scrolled gilt dial and painted Roman numerals on tablets. With glass protective dome. The stepped base similarly decorated and the lower steel band engraved "Presented to Jno.Jas.Josh. Sudlow Esq by the Administrator and Next of Kin (exparte materna) of Wm. Osgood Esq, late Chief Justice of Upper Canada. May 16th 1829" (54cms high, as viewed, minute hand missing)

The 8 day movement striking on a bell and stamped J.T. Paris and the conforming black dial with polychrome floral garlands and painted Roman numerals. With a stepped gilt wood base and a protective glass dome and stand (53cms on stand)
