An Irish flintlock blunderbuss by Edwards of Dublin, 14.5inch three-stage barrel with ring-turned bell-shaped muzzle, stamped DUBLIN on the top flat and DU-5928 at the midpoint, plain lock engraved EDWARDS, full stock deeply branded ME at the tail of the butt, brass mounts, the butt plate stamped DU-5928, the trigger guard with provision for a sling swivel. Fore-end with some repairs, ramrod pipe replaced or shortened. By repute used on the Dublin mail coach.
