Byron handed over the reins to a Mr Tom Hood in 1865, who in turn sold it to George (1815-1902) and Edward Dalziel (1817–1905) in 1870. The Dalziel brothers were publishers and highly regarded engravers in their own right who had established a family business in 1839. They cut the illustrations for Edward Lear's 'Book of Nonsense' in 1862 and those for 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Through the Looking Glass' by Lewis Carroll. They worked with many internationally renowned names in the art world including Myles Birket Foster, William Holman Hunt, John Everett Millais, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and James McNeill Whistler. Examples can be seen in the Victoria and Albert Museum. An autobiographical study of their work 'The Brothers Dalziel, A Record of Work, 1840-1890' was published by Methuen.
