A MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCKThe 13in arched brass dial with moon phase to the arch, with silvered chapter ting, enclosing an engraved centre with applied escutcheon detailed Samuel Howe London, cast mask spandrels, twin train movement striking on a bell, the case with fluted pilasters to the corners, arched broken pediment and ball finials, case and movement/dial probably associated 230cm high Condition report: The case: requires some light tidying / repair in areas with the typical minor scuffs and scratches, including vertical shrinkage split to the plinth base. In relatively unrestored condition. The dial: later applied silvered metal cartouche above the 6 hour. This conceals the calendar dial. The dial and movememt could be later. General wear commensurate with age and use. The movement: pendulum present but no weights. There is no guarantee of the working order of the clock and it is advised that is serviced by a qualified / specialist clock restorer.

The small USB port appears fine and when plugged in the lamp does signal that it is charging, however the on/off button does not work. No charging cable is included. A Victorian Silver Table-Bell, by John Bodman Carrington, London, 1900 the body tapering and engraved with an inscription, the handle cast as the badge of the Lancashire Fusiliers12cm high, 13oz 18dwt, 433grProvenance:Sold by Order of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to Benefit the Fusiliers' Aid Society (13 January Jewellery, Watches and Silver sale, lots 2273-2307 and Antiques and Interiors sale, 5 January 2024 lots 1-16).The inscription reads 'XX Presented to the Officers 4th Bn Lancashire Fusiliers by Lieut G. W. Robinson’.Fully marked on side and further part marked on clapper. There is some minor wear to the marks but in general each is legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use as well as some bruising. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving.
