A good mahogany cased mid-19th century longcase clock, 8-day bell striking movement, white painted dial with rural scenes to the corners, signed to the dial for retailer Royle & Rawson of Wigan listed as working in 1858, the case of imposing form typical of Birmingham manufacture, with excellent matched veneers, octagonal baluster columns to the trunk and hood, swan-necked pediment, with weights and pendulum.
