A late 18th, early 19th century oak and mahogany longcase eight day clock by Joseph Wild, MacclesfieldWith a moulded cornice above a 13 inch painted dial enclosed by painted floral and fruit spandrels with painted Arabic and Roman numerals and a central painted rolling moon aperture above a date aperture, signed by the maker, having a two train eight day movement striking on a saucer bell, the hood with tapering pillars of square section above the case with a central inlaid conch shell above a shaped crossbanded door the lower panel similarly crossbanded with canted corners and raised on a plinth base, complete with weights, key and pendulum. Height of clock 202cm. Provenance the Robinson collection.

An oak thirty hour longcase clock, signed Jonas Barber, Winster, numbered 677, circa 1764, flat top pediment, mahogany crossbanded trunk door, 11-inch square brass dial with a silvered Roman and Arabic signed chapter ring, matted dial centre engraved with scroll and sunburst decoration, arched date aperture, four pillar movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, latched pillars, movement frontplate numbered 677, 201cm high 31.05.17, Case has been cleaned and polished, minor chips to edges in parts, hood capitals have been re-painted with gilt paint, hood capitals with small woodworm holes in parts which are not active, later feet, dial is clean, movement is complete, with pendulum and weight.
