AN OAK LONGCASE CLOCK the thirty hour movement striking the hours on a bell with an outside countwheel, the 11 inch painted dial having a date aperture, Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markings, floral and rococo painted corner decoration, a cartouche with a river scene to the dial centre, and signed 'John Fry, Okehamton' (Okehampton), with decorative blued steel hands, the date wheel stamped with the dial maker's name 'Wilson, Birmingham', the oak case having a flat top with denticular moulding and oval blind fretwork to the frieze, tapered hood pillars, a long door to the trunk and plain base, height 222cm.
A WALNUT LONGCASE CLOCK the five pillar, eight day movement having ringed pillars and striking the hours on a bell, the 10½ inch brass dial with cast 'crown and cherub' spandrels to the corners, a matted centre with ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds dial below XII o'clock, a raised chapter ring engraved with black Roman hour numerals, Arabic five minute numerals, decorative half hour engraving of the 'meeting arrow head' style and signed either side of VI o'clock 'John Sims, Alderbury', with decorative blued steel hands, the later walnut case having satinwood and ebonised crossbanding to the case and hood, the fluted columns to the hood surmounted by brass capitals and having blocks to the flat top with brass eagle and ball finials, height 225cm (inc. finial). * John Sims is recorded as working in Alderbury near Salisbury, Wiltshire prior to 1764.

Field, Hempstead', the oak case having an arched trunk door and a carved swan neck pediment, height 203cm.
Wm MATTHEWS, PENRITH A LONGCASE CLOCK MOVEMENT AND DIAL the thirty hour plated movement striking the hours on a bell with an outside count wheel, the 12 inch painted arched dial having black Roman hour numerals, painted floral decoration to the four corners on a blue ground and a scene in the arch depicting a gentleman in a field loading a gun, with a subsidiary date aperture above VI o'clock and decorative steel hands.

Marti et Cie' along with the award of the 'Medaille de Bronze', the two piece white dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel moon hands, a visible Brocot style escapement with jewelled pallets and a cast brass bezel, the black slate case having an arched top and fluting to the front, made Circa 1860, height 42cm.

An important Charless II hooded wall clock with unique hours and minutes indication, by “William Clay, King”s Street, Westminster”, circa 1665, the substantial posted movement with square section pillars riveted to the bottom plate and pinned through the top plate, with four-wheel trains, restored balance wheel escapement and countwheel strike on a bell mounted above, the brass backplate mounted with alarm mechanism (now incomplete), the 9.75 inch x 9 inch square brass dial engraved with Roman numeral hour chapters with tulip half hour markers and finely executed differing floral spray spandrels, the overlaid rotating plate with rosette and Roman numeral hour chapters with well-cut steel hand for the alarm to centre within pointer denoting hours on the chapter ring behind, within outer band mounted with twelve further steel pointers, each in turn denoting the minutes via a finely engraved silvered sector at 12 o”clock, the lower edge with full signature, the later walnut hooded case with shallow arch pediment over rectangular glazed front to the rising cover over moulded apron and foliate scroll carved brackets, 54cm high, 33cm wide. Wetherfield Collection. William Clay is recorded in Britten, F J “Old Clocks & Watches and Their Makers” as working 1645-80. The dial is illustrated in figure 634 with an explanation of how the hours and minutes are denoted. Britten also cites that a watch by him was given by Cromwell to Col. Bagwell at the siege of Clonmel. Baillie records his dates as 1652-80 and adds that there is a watch by him in the Taunton Museum. The style of the engraving in the spandrels is reminiscent of some of the early longcase clock dials by Edward East, whilst the half hour markers and the rosette engraved centre are more typical of second period lantern clock work, suggesting a date of around 1665.
A George III thirty-hour longcase clock movement and dial, circa 1770, the four-pillar outside countwheel bell-striking movement with anchor escapement and 10 inch square brass dial, the centre engraved with ships sailing past a fort, signed “Peter Selby, Wareham” beneath, with applied Roman numeral chapter ring with Arabic five minutes and cockleshell pattern spandrel applied angles, 27.5cm high in total.
