Hewson, Lincoln The case with a twin swan neck pediment above two tapering reeded columns flanking the break arch 12" painted dial, the dial painted with a hunting scene and Arabic numerals with a subsidiary second dial and date aperture the eight day movement striking on a saucer bell, the case with a crossbanded door flanked by canted corners above a panelled base raised upon a shaped apron and bracket feet complete with pendulum and two weights, height of clock 206cms
A French Empire mantel clock, the 10 cm diameter dial signed LS. Mallet and H. DE M. D. D'ORLEANS, N 794, with Roman numeral, fitted an eight day movement striking on a bell, in an ormolu case, the base surmounted a female figure holding a mask and playing a tambourine, the clock surmounted a winged helmet and musical instruments, the base decorated a facemask and foliage on a plinth, 31 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GHSome damage to the enamel around the right hand winder. Enamel also scratched across the middle and with a small hairline crack to the top left. Otherwise case generally a little grubby but in good condition.Movement untested but appears to be in good, clean condition and appears complete. No key. Measurement across the dial including the bezel is 13 cm.
A late 19th century French mantel clock, in a gilt spelter figural case, 27 cm high, on a stand under a glass dome, 42 cm high Condition report Report by GHThe dome has some very small nibbles around the bottom edge when you lift it off, however, no other damage and generally in good condition. The clock is 41 cm high to the top of the dome, and approx. 36 cm wide x 18 cm deep.Report by NGCannot get movement to start working. A pietra dura hardstone panel, decorated flowers (a.f.), 25 x 17 cm, mounted as a book cover See illustration Condition report Report by NGTwo large cracks in black panel, to middle left hand side and to three quarters of the way down right hand side. There appears to be another crack from top left hand side down to one of white flowers, and again from right hand side middle to leaf tip, two others which could be cracks or possibly scratches, one top right hand side to tip of top leaf and one from the bottom middle up to left hand lower stem. One flowerhead of lily of the valley type missing. Other losses to stems of the lily of the valley type flowers. Losses to greenery around middle blue bell flower. Other losses to leaves to the right of open yellow rose, and losses around both of the larger cracks. Panel is mounted in a book cover, the inside embossed HBOSIS FLORENCE. Cover approx. 31 x 23 cm.
