Davis of Carmarthen, the case with broken swan neck pediment above arched aperture flanked by metal mounted turned columns, the waist with arch panelled door flanked by quarter pilasters, on a plain panelled base with baluster feet. Painted arched face with figure and cottage designs, Roman Numerals, seconds dial and date aperture. Eight day, two train movement striking on one bell. Face 18" x 14". Overall case is 120" high (222cm). CONDITION REPORT: Overall good condition, a little dry, a little faded to the base. Wear, tear and scuffs particularly lower edges. Minor wear to the face but no serious damage or losses visible. Crack to one side of the waist carcass.
19TH CENTURY WELSH MAHOGANY THIRTY HOUR LONG CASE CLOCK by Moseley of Neath, having metal mounted broken swan neck pediment over arched aperture flanked by turned pillars, strung outlined waist door on a similarly inlaid panelled base with bracket feet. Arched painted face with Roman Numerals, seconds dial and date aperture. 30 hour movement striking on one bell. Painted with figures and cottages. The face 18" x 12.5". overall 85" (220cm) high. CONDITION REPORT: The case is a little dry with some fading but basically in good condition. Lacking its back legs. Scuffed and worn in places. The face is slightly worn with scratches commensurate with finger ends. Complete with weight and pendulum.
