A mixed group comprising: a boxed group of finds comprising a silver penny core with Maltese cross to one face; a buckle with beast-head finials; a finger ring fragment; a coin of Edilred Rex (King Ethelred); a lead weight with impressed bronze coin; a leaf-shaped strap end in two fragments; an iron fish hook; a lead weight with impressed glass; a lead weight with bronze sleeve; a bronze dagger chape formed as a bird; a bronze pendant with lattice to the centre; a rectangular plaque with raised disc and incised lines; a discoid pendant with pellets; a bronze rumbler bell. A mixed bronze group comprising: an annular terret with slider bar to the reverse; a mount formed as three rings; a teardrop pendant with mounting lug; a fusiform pendant with shank and two loops; a mount with channel and two lateral rings; a burin with one round-section spike and one square-section; a dumb bell toggle. 91 grams total, 22-72mm (3/4 - 2 3/4"). 18th century AD. A large cast bronze crotal bell, spherical in form with circumferential lip, two holes to the upper face, suspension loop; sound bow to the underside with radiating petals and central disc, initials 'RW' to each side (for Robert Wells); stamped below the loop '8'. 315 grams, 88mm (3 1/2"). From an old Hampshire collection; found River Thames foreshore, London, 1976. The Wells Foundry was established in 1755 by Robert Wells (born 1725), at Aldbourne. Robert ran the foundry until his death in 1781, latterly working with his son, also Robert (born 1756). Robert Junior worked with his younger brother, James (born 1771), from circa 1790. When Robert retired in 1798, he left James in charge. The business prospered for many years but in 1825 it went bankrupt and was sold to the Whitechapel Foundry. The only initialled crotal bells attributable to the Wells foundry are marked ‘RW’, probably still produced during the period when James was in sole charge. The number '8' denotes the largest size of crotal bell in production. Fine condition. [No Reserve]

A mahogany eight day longcase clock, signed Jno Knight, Riverhead, circa 1780, arched pediment, stop brass fluted columns, moulded arched trunk door, 12-inch arched brass dial, seconds dial, date aperture, signed on a silvered plaque, moonphase in the arch, five pillar movement with a anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, later case, 221cm high 09.12.16, Case has been polished, hood sides with some cracks and scratches, case with small dents in parts, later back board, later side cheeks, dial chapter ring is slightly discoloured, movement looks complete, later case, with a pendulum and two weights.
An oak thirty hour longcase clock, swan neck pediment, 13-inch painted dial inscribed Sagar, Skipton, date dial, moonphase aperture, four pillar movement with a anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, possibly a later movement, 216cm high 09.12.16, Case is slightly faded in parts, later finials, feet are scuffed, dial is faded, numerals are faded, later side cheeks and a later seatboard, top dial pillar does not locate into the movement front plate, possibly a later movement, with pendulum and one weight.
An oak eight day longcase clock, signed Jno Gladstones, Biggar, swan neck pediment, shell inlaid trunk door, 12-inch arched silvered dial signed, seconds dial and date aperture, four pillar movement with anchor escapement and striking on a bell, later case, 216cm high 27.10.16, Case has been polished throughout, later skirting, later shell inlay, later side cheeks, later case, dial is slightly discoloured, movement looks complete, with a pendulum and two weights.
An ormolu and porcelain mounted striking mantel clock, circa 1880, urn finial, figural, floral and cherub decorated pink porcelain panels, acanthus leaf and swag mounts, pink enamel dial with Roman numerals, twin barrel movement striking on a bell, 36cm high, raised on a gilt wooden base and ebonised plinth, beneath a glass dome 09.12.16, Ormolu is slightly faded, surfaces with signs of bubbling in parts, porcelain panels are clean, dial with one minor hairline crack on the 5 o'clock numeral cartouche, movement needs cleaning, gilt wooden base is faded and with chips to the edges, ebonised plinth with scratches and small dents, glass dome with small scratches in parts but is complete.
An oak thirty hour longcase clock, signed Mark Metcalfe, circa 1770, swan neck pediment, triple arched trunk door with a Brian Loomes label inside, 12-inch arched brass dial with the silvered chapter ring signed, date aperture and engraved centre, arch with a painted plaque depicting a galleon, engraved dial borders, dummy winding holes, four pillar movement with a anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, 220cm high 09.12.16, Hood with a later top panel, hood with small split to the front, underside corners of the hood with chips, front of the base with cracks, later feet, dial is discoloured and needs cleaning, movement is dirty and needs cleaning, crutch is broken and missing, pendulum is damaged, with one weight.
A Scottish mahogany eight day longcase clock, signed R.F.McGibbon, Paisley, circa 1840, drum shaped pediment with a carved scroll crest, bowed waisted trunk door, 13-inch circular painted dial with Roman numerals, seconds and date dials, four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, 217cm high 07.12.16, Case slightly faded in parts, dents and scratches in parts, trunk door is locked and is not opening, later bun feet, dial with some flaking and bubbling to the paint in parts, numerals are slightly rubbed, small strips of wood have been placed on top of both sides of the case cheeks beneath the seatboard, date hand is working, movement needs cleaning, with two weights and a pendulum.
An oak eight day longcase clock, signed Jas Richardson, Helmsley, circa 1800, flat top pediment, 13-inch arched painted dial, seconds dial and date aperture, moonphase in the arch, four pillar movement with attached falseplate stamped Wilson, anchor escapement, rack striking on a bell, 210cm high 09.12.16, Case with a later trunk door, dial with crazing marks, all hands are present but have come loose, movement looks complete, dial pins are missing, with pendulum and two weights.
A mahogany eight day longcase clock, signed Fearnley, Wigan, circa 1780, swan neck pediment with inset gilt painted glass panels, blind fret border, raised quatre form panel to the base, 14-inch arched barass dial, scroll engraved centre with a seconds dial, inner date ring, moonphase in the arch and signed above, four pillar movement with a anchor escapement and striking on a bell, 244cm high 09.12.16, Hood with moulding detail missing in parts, later finials, hood with scratches and some cracks to the sides, blind fret above the trunk door with pieces missing and replaced, trunk door is bowed and cracked to the top left hand side, bottom side of the trunk door with cracks and a small piece has been spliced to the to the corner, dial is dirty and discoloured throughout, minute hand is broken, hands are rusty, movement is dirty and with rust marks to the parts, later added crutch, no pendulum and no weights.
A small mahogany longcase clock, 20th century, pagoda pediment, moulded arched trunk door, 6-1/2-inch arched brass dial, seconds dial, double weight driven movement with a deadbeat escapement and striking on a bell, 131cm high 08.12.16, Case with small chips to the edges in parts, hood with two brass capitals missing, trunk door with small cracks, key escutcheon is later, hood with small cracks, with a pendulum and two weights.
