A bracket-mounted bronze ship's bell, 'HMS Sancroft 1944', on shaped bracket, 30cm high, bell mount 15cm. Originally 'Empire Baffin' cargo ship built in 1941 by Lithgows Ltd, Port Glasgow, commissioned in 1943 as HMS Sancroft, being converted to a cable-laying ship for Operation Pluto, returned to the MoWT in 1946, sold and renamed 'Clintonia', final change of ownership in 1960, renamed 'Aspis', scrapped in 1963. Empire Baffin was a member of a number of convoys during WWII and used in support of Operation Overlord as HMS Sancroft.

Provenance: purchased form N. Bloom and Son, Conduit Street, London 24 July 1990. The crest is that recorded for Aurd, Bell, Hunt, Kerr, Frazer and other families.

An impressive Tri-ang Pressed Steel 'Routemaster' Bus, most likely modelled on an AEC Regent V vehicle, in London Transport livery, Route 93 to Putney Bridge Station and with 'Shell Super - one oil for all cars' labels to both sides. Approximately 57cm long, the bus retains its bell and clapper to the underside of the vehicle.

The four pages detail a journey from the Malt House, Newlyn by train to Par, onwards to Fowey & then to Polperro & Polruan.Provenance: Purchased by the vendor from Deidre McLellan, the artist's granddaughter.
