An 18th/19th Century French Officer's Cased Travelling Alarm Clock:The Dial has the legend "Il est l`heure de faire le bien" and two winding holes and three hands, the case has floral spandrels and bosses to the sides with a laurel and floral decoration to the top and handle, the back door has large pierced cover and opens to reveal three hammers striking on one bell, this rings for Alarm, Hours and Quarters. Comes with fitted case which has tooled gilt detail to the sides and the top. Clock H 20cm x W 13 cm x D 11 cm CONDITION REPORT: Clock in good original condition, minor scratches to the dial and chip around the winding ports, original hands and alarm hand.Gilt case retains original finish, all floral appliques are firmly fixed, striking quarters pull on the left side set with a translucent bead, and the alarm pull coming from beneath the clock with an opaque bead.The right side of the clock has the letters "GP HR II" impressed to it.the pierced back door opens and closes firmly, a slight buckling to the pierced section sitting in the frame.Movement with three hammers striking on a single bell, two for hours and minutes, the bottom hammer for the alarm.in good working order, chiming out of sync with the time.Case is original and in unrestored condition with original lining, hook closures and gilded leather outer.no mould or dusting to the linings in good stable condition.comes with later double ended key.
A Green Chinoiserie Longcase Clock by William Scafe, Circa 1760:Unmarked movement attributed to William Scafe, with complicated movement, with eight finned pillar movement with verge escapement, pendulum adjustment and transverse bell set to the centre of the movement. The dial with correct 18th century hands, and three subsidiary dials, the top left dial set off the pendulum for fast/slow settings, the top for minutes and the left for date, with floral and urn spandrels, the ornately gilded chinoiserie case on green ground. CONDITION REPORT: Clock case stands well and solid, good condition, bright colours, good gilding. Weights are later as in cast steel, some losses to pierced sections, two are loose but with clock. Movement and pendulum in good clean condition, has been working with benefit from a service. Complications to mechanism include adjustments to dial via pendulum, and bell set vertically in centre of movement. Total height approx. 110 inches

A FRENCH SILVER GILT BEAKER of slightly flared, shaped oval section with moulded rim, above an engraved band of rocaille, applied with lambrequins alternating with bell flowers, on domed and moulded foot, 9.3cm h, by Johann Ludwig II Imlin, Strasbourg, c 1730, 6ozs 12dwts. A similar example is illustrated Dennis (F), Three Centuries of French Domestic Silver in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York 1960, vol 1, plt 543. BELK FAMILY. SCIENCE AND ART DEPARTMENT NATIONAL MEDAL FOR SERVICES IN ART 5.3cm, impressed W[alter] P[atrick] Belk Stage 23C 1891, morocco case, 3ozs Walter Patrick Belk (1872-1963) trained as an architect, later assuming joint responsibility with his brother Charles Belk for the management of Roberts & Bell Ltd (founded 1810, incorporated 1901) W P Belk designed much of the company's silver in the 1920s & 30s including the flatware for the dining rooms of the liner RMS "Queen Mary". An important figure in the industry, W P Belk was especially keen to improve standards of modern silver design in Britain. He was a Liveryman of The Goldsmiths Company. Roberts & Bell Ltd was purchased by C J Vander Ltd in 1961.

The enamel dial undamaged, back door lacking the small knob ,replaced by a bent pin, all five of the bevelled glass panels undamaged. Leathr case dusty with slight scuff marks, purple velvet interior frayed and stained. Retaining both the gilt brass flaps which secure the lid but one lacking the turn-anchor so only secured by the other. No engraving or erasure of initials or inscription

An early 19th century oak mahogany banded longcase clock by Iveson of Carlisle, with painted dial, 30 hour movement, date aperture, the case with quarter column corners and raised on ogee bracket feet, height 228 cm. CONDITION REPORT: We have the key and pendulum. The clock is currently ticking away. It is not striking. There is no bell. The face is in generally good order with some minor rubbing to the enamel to the left of the date aperture and to the left of the “I” Ivison. The case is in generally very good condition. Neither door is warped and there is no significant damage or any repairs that we can see. The bracket feet are original and in good order.
