an early 19th century longcase clock, eight-day movement striking a bell, painted arched dial with moonphase, subsidiary dial and calendar aperture, nicely-figured flame mahogany case with crossbanding, swan-neck pediment, rope-twist pilasters to hood and trunk, pedestal base, ogee bracket feet. 239cm high

VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Generally in poor/well worn condition, the face having been badly repainted at some stage, various areas of cross banding and veneer missing, bracketed base non original, door is off, general restoration required.
A PAIR OF ELABORATE CANDLESTICKS IN THE NEOCLASSICAL TASTE, Birmingham 1920, mark probably that of Ellis Jacob Greenberg, the urn shaped sockets embossed with ribbon tied swags, and with detachable drip pans, above a tapering reeded column applied with cast rams heads to top, and raised on a square spreading base heavily embossed and engraved with urns, bell flower swags and border of acanthus, weighted. 31 cm high, the base 14.5cm sq.

A RARE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE DEEP BELL-SHAPED BOWL MID-16TH CENTURY The exterior painted with a continuous scene of figures and boats in a mountainous river landscape with houses and pagodas, the inner well with a medallion enclosing a similar design below a band of cranes and lotus, 14.5cm dia. Provenance: formerly in the collection of Dr Arthur Spriggs, purchased from Sidney Michael in 1963.
