The case has a good original colour and polish. There is a small piece of veneer missing from the side edge of the front door approximately 12mm long. The feet have been replaced and one is missing. There is a very small chip in the top right corner mould. One of the finials is missing. The sound frets to the side of the case have been replaced. The movement and dial are original to the case. The dial has its original gilding. Losses to the silvering on the chapter rings. The hour hand has been replaced. The movement has its original verge escapement and is ticking and striking the correct hours but is dirty and will require a service. Comes with its original winding key. No door key.

A WILLIAM AND MARY EBONISED 30-HOUR LONGCASE CLOCK the slender case with moulded pediment above a pierced frieze and barley twist columns, the trunk door having a D-moulded edge and glass lenticle on box base. The 10" square brass dial with winged cherub head spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted engraved centre with calendar aperture and engraved sunburst, signed below the chapter ring fronting a weight-driven movement with finned pillars and outside countwheel hour strike on a large bell.206cm high A good period clock, the case is period and in good condition, the base is original, and there is a crack running up from the bottom of the trunk. The movement sits on the cheeks well and fills the mask correctly, the movement is of very good quality and is complete. The clock has a period weight and pendulum. This clock has come from a very good private vender who has a large collection of period oak and early items. Extra images uploaded.

The movement is ticking with the original lever escapement with a strong action. The striking side will need some attention as it only strikes once on the hour. There is no Strike/Silent lever.

The case with figured panelled sides and profusely inlaid trunk door depicting owls, other birds and scrolling foliage with a centre brass framed lenticle, a matching box base and a moulded plinth. The 12-inch square brass dial with cast mask head spandrels signed silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minute markings, matted centre with ringed winding holes, cut engraved date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial fronting a five pillar eight-day repeating movement with anchor escapement rack striking on a bell.220cm highThe clock does have its original caddy which is removable. The movement has been blocked up on the cheeks and in our opinion is not original to the case. The dial is original to the movement and looks to have been cleaned in recent years, and is in good working condition. The case again is in very nice condition with no losses. The base has been restored along the bottom approx 4 inches from the plinth. The plinth is also later. Comes with the original pendulum and lead weights.

DESBOIS & WHEELER, GRAYS INN PASSAGE, LONDON. A LATE REGENCY MAHOGANY LANCET TOP DOUBLE FUSEE BRACKET CLOCK the 8" convex painted dial with Roman numerals and signed centre below a strike/silent lever fronting a lancet-shaped double fusee eight-day movement with anchor escapement and hour striking on a bell, fitted adjustable pendulum and signed backplate. The case with geometric moulded front, side frets and lion head carrying handles; mounted on a moulded plinth with turned wood bun feet49cm high The case has some patches of missing polish to the sides, there's a joint split in the veneer also to one side, the front has two splits in the veneer, one running down the left side and one to the right side below the dial. There is missing veneer to the back door and 3 old wormholes to the right, the interior of the case has also got worm damage. The paint is original on the dial but is crazed in places with minor losses to the outer edge. The movement is original to case and is complete with the original pendulum with no alterations, although very dirty and will need restoring.

A MINIATURE REGENCY DOUBLE FUSEE PAD TOP BRACKET CLOCK the break arch case with brass moulded pad top and hinged handle above a hinged full front opening door and brass bound plinth base raised on ogee bracket feet, The 3 3/4" convex dial with Roman numerals fronting a signed eight-day double fusee movement with engraved backplate striking the hours on a bell.24cm high not including handle The case would probably be originally ebonised, there are some shrinkage splits to the veneer on the top, and the back door looks to have been replaced. The dial looks to be enamel but has been restored. There is also a small split to the front door just above the brass bezel. The movement which is original to the case and the dial is in working condition and striking the correct hours, one of the fixing brackets has been replaced. The minute hand has been replaced also.
