Henry Simcock, Daintree, an ebonised bracket clock, circa 1700, the bell top case with handle above and four urn finials, the single fusee verge six latched pillar movement with quarter pull repeat on two bells, the 18cm square brass dial with winged cherub spandrels, silvered chapter ring, mock pendulum and date apertures, ringed winding hole, signed to the scroll engraved backplate, glazed sides, on four brass disc feet, with later wall bracket having frieze drawer. Note: Henry Simcock is recorded working in Daventry (also known as Daintree) circa 1714. See Baillie (GH) Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World, p.292. 36 x 26.50cm (14 x 10in) ConditionLooks to have been repolished / cleaned. With later wall bracket. Seatboard nailed to supporting blocks. Repeating work/train may be a 20th century replacement or addition. Appears fully wound. Currently ticking but not tested for any duration. I suspect refurbished 20 or 30 years ago when purchased. Has a crank wind key and case key. See photos.

A French late 19th century neo classical ormolu mantel clock, the urn shape case with bud finial above a pair of serpent entwined satyr masks to both sides, the 10cm painted dial with blue numerals, the bell striking drum movement marked 'W. Oppenheim, Londres - Paris', on a waisted socle and bow fronted base with 5 segmented disc feet, with giltwood stand, the clock 45cm high, together 50cm high 45 x 26cm (18 x 10in) formerly with a sixth foot to the centre reverse of the base. Markwick Markham, London, a good early George III ebonised, ormolu mounted and brass inlaid table clock for the Turkish market, the signed silvered dial with three train movement chiming on 8 bells, and striking on a further bell, tune selection 'A Minuett' or 'A March' to the arch, strike/not strike and chime/not chime subsidiary small dials to the upper spandrels, date aperture, the engraved backplate signed, the bell-top case with folding handle and four pineapple finials, arched side frets and pendant corner mounts, all on stepped bracket feet 53 x 35cm (21 x 14in) Markwick Markham (1725-1805) specialised in clocks for the Turkish market.
