late 19th century, the enamel dial inscribed 'Gille Laine', surmounted with a putto wielding a scythe, the two train movement striking on a bell, complete with a pair of twin branch candelabra, each modelled as a putto,clock 47cm highCondition ReportChip to the enamel, which is also rubbed. One sconce missing to the candelabra. The scythe is slightly bent and has some movement. One of the candelabra has a loose arm. Wear, rubbing and losses to the ormolu finish. General nibbles and wear commensurate with age. Has been striking although we cannot guarantee this will continue to be the case. The clock was serviced within the last 5-7 years but likely needs to the attention of a clock restorer.

An Art Deco marble clock with pheasants the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell with an outside countwheel and stamped on the backplate with the trademark of the movement maker S. Marti, Paris, with the shaped, silvered dial having black stylised Roman numerals, decorative hands and signed by the retailer J. Clerc, Lorient, the brown and cream variegated marble case having a pair of cold painted bronze pheasants to either side, with a pair of stylised urn side pieces on matching marble bases, height 35cm clock, 24cm side pieces.

Written in the location panel is Kings Lynn Tel Office, Kings Lynn Jnct Box, Diesel Depot, March Office.; a similar but the call buttons are further spaced in front of a brass backplate which is engraved with the call instructions; a simple wooden cased receive only with bakelite handset cradled at the front.
