A small thirty-hour posted longcase/hooded wall clock movement and dial circa 1700 with anchor escapement and outside countwheel strike on a bell the 8. inch square brass dial with original steel hand matted centre and applied Roman numeral chapter ring with cruciform half hour markers the angles with applied cherub head cast spandrels (one lacking) 25cm high overall. The style of the chapter ring and overall finish of the movement would suggest London work of the period.
An early 19th century oak cased thirty-hour longcase clock with four-pillar outside countwheel bell-striking movement and 11. inch square white Roman numeral dial with arched calendar aperture polychrome bird perched on branch decoration and signed Bedford Hingham to centre the angles with rose painted spandrels in a flat-top case with ogee moulded pediment and turned pilasters to hood over rectangular trunk door and plinth base with bracket feet movement and dial probably associated to case 196cm high.

Probably Eleanor Harvey who is recorded in Baillie G H Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World as working in Brentwood after the death of her husband John in 1772.

Henry Jenkins is recorded in Britten F J Old Clocks and Watches & their Makers as working from 68. Aldergate St Cheapside 1756-83 maker of curious astronomical and other clocks.

Bishop Maidstone An 18th century brass lantern clock with anchor escapement striking the hours on a brass bell enclosed by the open crown dial with Roman chapters enclosing foliate engraved centre inscribed with maker's name pierced scrolling surmounts to front and sides turned columns at angles with urn finials and ball feet hinged sides 37cm high; together with an associated mahogany bracket 64cm high (2) There are Bishops recorded as working in Maidstone circa 1650 (John) 1720 (Martha) and 1733 (John). This clock has repair dates to the rear of the dial for 1768 1814 1821 1831 1835 1867 1880 and 1995. It was purchased from Paul Smith of Nantwich in 1953 for #20.
