A large and heavy 18th century silver Hot Water Jug/Coffee Pot, the hinged dome-topped cover surmounted with a bell-shaped finial, with woven rush handle and the main baluster body with a lower wrythern and foliate design in repoussé style, raised on circular foot, makers mark ER, assayed London 1759, old British Antique Dealer's Association circular sticker to middle of body, with elaborately engraved armorial crest, 27cm high, approx. 675g CONDITION REPORT: This has come direct from the President of a major Oxford College who has now retired. General condition overall is very good with no problems noted although there is a slight darkish tarnish blemish near where the handle joins the top but this appears to rub away.
