LEFAUCHEUX INVR BREVETE”, Liege proved, the breech, cylinder and frame inlaid with fine silver and gold lines and bell shaped flowers, with ejector rod (a replacement), bag shaped butt with plain ivory grips, and lanyard ring. A brass barrelled and brass framed flintlock boxlock blunderbuss pistol with spring bayonet, c 1820, 7¼” overall, bell mouth barrel 3¼” with octagonal breech, and with 3¼” spring bayonet beneath released by sliding trigger guard, Birmingham proved, the frame nicely engraved with trophies of flags and drums, and signed “MABSON & LABRON” in scrolls, with top safety which also locks the frizzen and plain walnut butt with large oval silver escutcheon.
