A mahogany 8 day longcase clock circa 1830, 14'' arch painted dial with Roman numerals, with indistinct signature, 234cm. Case with surface scratches, the hood door with repairs, chips and cracks to the veneers, trunk door is slightly bowed with a piece chipped from the front left corner in need of restoration, front of the plinth with cracks and left side of plinth with cracks, dial is discoloured and stained in parts with minor chips and scratches to the paint work, the dial is indistinctly signed, hands are discoloured, one of the colets around one of the winding holes is missing, with pendulum and two weights, movement needs bell securing (bell and nut is present)
A metal cased Mantel Clock having a part gold and part black finished case surmounted by a kneeling figure of a fisher boy, the case with crossed oars and an anchor as well as marine plants and trailing ivy and inset with oval alabaster panels (one damaged), the movement by Japy Freres having Roman numerals and chiming on a bell, 16 1/2'' wide x 14 9/16'' high x 5 3/4'' deep. Pendulum and winder present. Minute hand retaining nut absent and some losses to reeds to upper back.

Admiral Crabbe An important Visitors’ Book with 845 signatures (Oct 1935 to Dec 1940), most of which have been identified, include witnesses to the Nanking massacre, a fine collection of Royal Navy captains at the start of WW2, and John Alexander Fraser and Major Lanceray Newnham, who were tortured and executed by the Japanese, and posthumously award the George Cross. WW2 Bomber POW veterans multiple signed 10 x 6 inch b/w Lancaster photo. Signed by W/O Phil Bates 149 sqn Wellington, W/O W G Billy Bell 166, 103 sqn Bill joined the RAF in 1941 and was posted to 103 Squadron at RAF Elsham Wolds as a Navigator on Halifaxes. He was later transferred to 166 Squadron, and was on his 20th operation, flying to Berlin in November 1943 when he was shot down and ended up as a PoW in Stalag Luft IVb. He escaped on three separate occasions but was recaptured every time - the war finished just before his fourth attempt! Sqn Ldr Alfie Fripp 57 sqn Blenheim He was shot down by the Luftwaffe in 1939 and held in twelve different prisoner of war camps, including Stalag Luft III, later the site of the "Great Escape". As the last of the "39ers" (those taken prisoner in the first year of the war), he was the oldest surviving and longest serving British POW, W/O Frank Mannion 10 sqn Halifax, W/O Cal Younger 46 sqn. dating: 1840 circa provenance: Naples, A particular, smooth, two-stage, 20 mm. cal. barrel, with remains of burnishing, octagonal at the first part with marks of the Real Fabbrica from Naples with fleurs-de-lis, crosses and flowers, all gold-inlaid (only small missing parts), base engraved with bird, round ring bell-mouthed at the noozle like a launcher with moulded muzzle; very long and engraved tangs with sight; forward spring locks decorated en suite. Full wooden stocks and butts engraved with floral motifs; white metal (perhaps silver?) mounts decorated with floral motifs, pommels with drum and shell-shaped lid. Iron ramrod. Cased with green velvet cover (quite threadbare) with some spare parts and pellets case. length 32 cm.
