Pickring" and dated 1749, the silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and with date aperture and matted dial centre to the thirty hour brass framed movement striking on a bell, contained in 19th Century dark oak case with moulded and fluted cornice and plain turned pillars to hood, the trunk door carved with the head of a king, flower and leaf ornament and conforming leaf carved borders and plinth, on bracket feet, 85ins high. Going to Cover with several repaired tears, overpainting, and brown discolouration particularly to the margins, foxing, dark marks, tears and repairs to upper half, mainly to sky, various holes, etc. Frame with knocks, marks, chips, losses to veneer. Bell of the Hunt in similar condition, although slightly better. Frames with various chips, damage and wear and tear throughout. Darks marks and foxing, repairs to sky. Frame with knocks, chips, losses. Overall 66 x 79 approx, image approx 42 x 56cm approx within mount.
