HMS Exeter / Graf Spee interest, a photograph album of HMS Exeter with original Cap Tally, the album details the last peaceful cruise of the Exeter 1937-38 along the South American Coastline but ends with a small original photo "German Pocket Battleship Graf Spee scuttled off Montevideo 17th December 1939" also a small ships bell, believed to be from the Graf Spees Lighter Boat which is marked "PS GRAF SPEE 1939" the small boats would have been used to take the crew to Port in Montevideo and it is believed this bell was removed from one of them. Bell with some old repair work? but pretty unique. The album appears to relate to then Midshipman A.G.G.Van Renen who later Commanded HMS Havelock and appears on the U-Boat forum whilst in charge of HMS Conn. A most impressive and interesting lot.
