A RARE LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY SHIP'S BELL STRIKING BULKHEAD CLOCK having a silvered dial signed Tiffany & Co, Roman arrow numerals, brass hands, drum shaped large brass case with piercing sides, 24cms diam Condition Report: small knock to back of case, scratch near the key-hole, otherwise structurally fine, at present we cannot open the glass as the key is incorrect but intend to keep trying during viewing so can explore internally Additional information: We have tried our stock of keys and persevered to some extent but I am afraid that we have not be able to open the glass. It is from an estate where the items are of very good quality and in excellent condition but in terms of the mechanics of the clock, regrettably it is a case of ‘buy as seen’

A George III and later ebonised bracket clock, with two-train fusee movement striking on a bell. Height excluding carrying handle 37.5 cm, width 28.75 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock is in generally extremely good condition. It is ticking away and striking as it should. The movement winds on both trains. The case is in generally very good order with no significant condition issues. The front door is not warped. All of the metalwork is present and in generally good condition. The feet have lost much of their original lacquered finish as have the flat sections to the caddy top. The dial is in generally good order. The hour hand is missing its tip. We have a key and the brass pendulum retainer is present.

LATE 18TH CENTURY WELSH OAK 30 HOUR LONG CASE CLOCK, marked: J. Jenkins, Cardigan, the case with arched hood over arched aperture flanked by bead moulded pilasters, shaped and string inlaid waist door below a geometrically inlaid frieze and flanked by bead moulded quarter pillasters on a strung outline panel base with platform support. Well repainted arched face with Roman numerals, floral spandrels and scenic arch, also with arched date aperture. 30 hour movement strikes on one bell. Face 15" x 10.5".(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: in good clean condition overall, the face having been well repainted.
