A large turquoise and gold ring, comprising an oval turquoise approx 25 x 20mm, rub over set within a rope border and outer wire work wave like border, decorative shoulders, size M, total gross weight approx 13.9gms, unmarked assessed as 14ct gold along with a hallmarked 9ct gold bell charm, weight approx 2.9gms Interesting Provenance:The family who own the ring had to leave their home in Warsaw during the second world war taking very little with them, they took the turquoise ring, made for the client’s own gold into jewellery so it could be easily carried. A family member was a goldsmith and created the ring design to utilize as much gold as possible, so it would hold a large amount of wealth in a single piece. During the Warsaw Uprising the family were held at gunpoint, quick thinking one family member hid the ring in her shoe. These items survived the war and the period behind the iron curtain to be sold here today.
