Cased Victorian County of Monmouth standard set of bell weights from 56lb to 2 grains by Doyle & Son London, 56lb to 2lb weights all marked County of Monmouth 1876, serial numbered 1610 and with Royal ciphers for Victoria and Edward VII and portcullis marks for the late 19th and early 20th century, 1lb weight also numbered 1610 and with GR cipher, the smaller weights mostly unmarked. Contained in two large twin handled cases, the taller housing the 56lb weight the longer housing the remainder, both with County of Monmouth Division A to brass plaque to lid, length of longer box 54cm, ex Monmouthshire Trading Standards

A George III oak and mahogany longcase clock, 30.5cm arched painted dial inscribed George Kiddle, Sherborne, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, twin winding holes, 8-day movement striking on a bell, the case with swan neck pediment, rectangular door to waist, plinth base, 222cm high, c.1820George Kiddle was born at Sherborne, Dorset, was apprenticed 1823-1830, when he set up in business there, marrying Mary Tuffin the following year. In 1855 he moved to Chelmsford, Essex, and died at Shoreditch 3/5/1871.
