A well engineered 5 inch gauge model of the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad 4-4-0 Locomotive and Tender, built to the drawings and castings of J E S Clarke of Denbigh, with brazed superheated copper boiler and fittings including water and pressure gauge, safety, blower, injector, whistle, steam brake, clack valves and washout plug. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with inside Stephenson's link reversing, detailed big end and coupling rod bearings, ratchet operated lubricator, crosshead driven feedpump and bypass, injector, whistle, steam operated brake gear, dummy sanding box and pipework, lamps, bell, cow-catcher and other details. Tender with hand-operated feed pump, water cock and twin four-wheel bogies. The model finished in blue and red paintwork with polished brightwork. Length 55 3/4 inches x 16 inches. (141.5cm x 40.5cm).
A finely engineered 4 inch scale model of a 45hp Case traction engine, built by Mr Eric Lindsay to drawings by Ralph Andres in the USA and using castings from John Rex Model Engineers. The engine is a single speed machine with flywheel friction clutch and includes a double acting geared water pump, feedwater heater, horizontal injector and a four note chime whistle. The boiler is manufactured by Bell Boilers of Gloucester. The hydraulic test certificate is valid until May 2011 and the steam test certificate is valid until August 2009. This model was completed in 2008 and has been test steamed and run at the MSRVS rally in Tewkesbury this year.
