Three items of jewellery to include a Victorian 18ct gold three stone diamond ring with a central star set old European diamond flanked either side by a square set diamond and further detail to the shoulders, an oval multi gem set brooch and a silver medal for the 'Royal Life Saving Society Manchester Branch Dist'. The lot is in a generally good condition, there is slight abrasion to a couple if stones in the brooch, there are lots minor scratches and dents to the ring from general wear and tear making the gold look dull, slight tarnishing to the medal, all the items have a few minor scratches and dents from general wear and tear. Ring finger size UK P, US 7.75.

A 1920's nurses medal in the form of an enameled red cross with central armorial, the top brooch fitting in blue enamel and reads 'Miss Storers Nursing Association'. Height measures 2ins (5.5cm). Hallmarked J A Restall Birmingham 1928. The medal is in generally good condition. The enamel is all intact and unchipped, although it is scuffed and scratched in places. The silver is tarnished and dirty looking. The cross medal is slightly loose on the brooch fitting, and the brooch itself does not work because the clasp is bent. The hallmark on the back of the cross is clear, and the sponsor's mark is badly rubbed but still legible. The hallmark on the back of the brooch is badly rubbed.

9ct gold Masonic circular medal with central crown and raised 'London' to the top, the reverse with engraving 'Presented to E. Comp. Percy. Goodfrey by the Companions of the Chapter'. Hallmarked London 1927. The medal is in very good condition. There are some very minor surface scratches, but no serious damage. The crown and circular plate are slightly loose, but are still well attached. The engraving on the reverse reads 'Presented to E. Comp. Percy Godfrey by the Companions of the Chapter as a mark of estemm on his being raised to the dignity of London Chapter Rank. Union Waterloo Chapter No.13. 1928'. The engraving and the hallmark are both clear and legible.

Four assorted gold and silver gilt Masonic medellions to include Loyal Welsh Lodge examples. All the medals are in good condition, with only surface scratches, small areas of discolouration, and some dirt on the medal. The medal with the pale blue ribbon and square medallion is engraved on the front with 'Loyal Welsh Lodge No.378', and on the back with 'Presented to W. Bro. W. H. Silcox. P. M. by the Brethren of Loyal Welsh Lodge No. 378 JanY. 1935'. All the hallmarks are clear, the decoration is unrubbed, and it is in excellent condition bar a mark on the very top. he medal with pale blue ribbon and circular medallion says 'No. 378', 'Loyal Welsh Lodge 1824' on the front, and is inscribed 'Bro. W. H. Silcox' on the reverse. The ribbon is a little dirty but the medal is in overall excellent condition. The hallmark is clear. he medal on the red ribbon with the crown is in excellent condition. There are several areas of discolouration and small surface scratches, but no serious damage. It says 'Loyal Welsh No. 378' on the front, and 'Presented to M.E.Z. W. H.

Lot 1504

A selection of twelve assorted medals mostly early twentieth century and a Victorian example, total weight 3.328ozt (103.51gms). The medals are all in reasonable condition. They have scratches, notches, and tarnish, but all are intact and in generally good repair. Eleven of them are hallmarked silver, but one of these has a white metal front. The remaining medal is white metal and made from a coin. The hallmarks date from around 1890 to 1937. Five of them are engraved on the backs with inscriptions such as 'Leighterton & District AF League', and 'Winners of Summerfield Charity Cup A.H.'

9ct bi-colour gold Burnely Cricket Club medal of 1897, to the front engraved with two crickets bats, a wicket and three lions, the back reads 'Winners Burnley CC . N.Tomlinson' for the Lancashire Cricket League. Registered number 281636. Weight 15.2grams. The medal is in very good condition. The engraved decoration is all crisp and clear, and there are only minor surface scratches. The ring at the top is notched. The medal is hallmarked Birmingham 1897, and the sponsor's mark is 'W.J.D.'

Three 9ct gold Liverpool sporting medals to include a Mersey District Challenge Cup medal with a central cross design and green and blue enamel, engraved to the back 'Winners 1922-1923 W.E. Hall Liverpool Trams A.F.C', a Liverpool Centre with blue enameled detail, engraved to the back '1/4 Mile Championship 1923 Second Prize' plus a Liverpool County Football Association medal with embossed detail, to the back 'Twenty One Years Service C.S. Pimbley 1946-1967'. All three medals are in good condition. They all have slight surface scratches, and some are rubbed and a little discoloured. The detail of the embossed and engraved decoration is all still intact on all the medals. The 'Mersey District Challenge Cup' medal and the 'Liverpool County Football Association' medal were both made by Vaughtons of Birmingham. The hallmarks on all three are legible.

Lot 1507

Two German Wilhelm II 1914 2nd class WW1 black enamel crosses suspended from black and white ribbons, awarded for acts of heroism and leadership skills. One side depicts an oak leaf below the letters FW-Friedrich Wilhelm III, and above 1813-when the medal was first issued, the other side is dated 1914 with the letter W. They are both second class medals, being suspended from ribbons as opposed to being pinned or sewn on. hey are both in reasonable condition considering their age. The one suspended from the pin ribbon is in better condition than the other. It has scratches, scuffs, and marks to the enamel, and the metal is rusty in places. The pin works well still, but the ribbon is badly stained. he other medal is in slightly worse condition. More of the enamel is missing, and the metal is badly discoloured. Some of the enamel is shiny, whereas on the other medal it is all matte, so perhaps repair work has been attempted at some point. The ribbon is fairly clean although the top is a little frayed.

Lot 1508

A German cased iron and black enamel cross with central swastika and pin back issued in 1939, together with a similar example also issued in 1939 suspended from pendant loop also with enamel to the back with the date 1813. The medal in the box is first class, being pinned directly onto a uniform rather than suspended from a ribbon. It is in reasonably good condition. The enamel on the front is a bit damaged and marked, but there is no serious damage. The metal on the back is discoloured and has some surface scratches. The pin in still basically in working order, but is rather stiff. The underside of the pin is stamped with two marks, one of which appears to be a number 20, and the other of which is illegible. The box is showing signs of age but is still in good condition. he other medal is second class. It is in very good condition. There are some slight marks and tiny chips to the enamel, but no serious damage. The metal is a little tarnished in places. The ring at the top is stamped with the number 75.

Lot 1509

WWII German War Merit Cross also known as the War Service Cross, the cross has central swastika and crossed swords with pin back. Created by Hitler in 1939, this medal was issued to soldiers for exceptional service in battle above and beyond the call of duty. There were two versions of the War Merit Cross, one issued to combatants, and the other to non-combatants. This is an example of the version of the medal given to soldiers. he medal is in overall good condition. The metal has oxidised, resulting in a bloom on the surface. There are some small notches and scratches to the front of the medal, but these are not serious, and the details of the medal are clear and undamaged. The brooch mechanism still works, but the pin is discoloured in places. The pin has been stamped, but this mark is impossible to make out. The box is showing signs of wear, but is still in good condition.

Lot 1510

German Coastal Artillery Badge of bronze colour, consisting of two rows of oak leaves in the form of a wreath, inside this, a depiction of a coastal artillery piece with the sea in the background, to the top an eagle above a swastika. Designed by the sculptor Otto Placzek of Berlin, this is marked to the back of the piece. Awarded to soldiers with the coast artillery who displayed significant leadership qualities or an an act of worth in action. Missing pin and possible alteration to the fitting. The medal is in reasonable condition. The gold coloured plating has worn off in several places, and the medal has a number of scratches and dints to its surface. Despite this, the detail of the design is all still clear and unrubbed. The pin on the back has broken off. The back is marked with the name of the sculptor who designed the medal, Otto Placzek, but this mark is partially obscured by a large patch of solder which could indicate that a repair has taken place.

Lot 1511

Italian CSIR white enameled cross with metal twist border suspended from a black and white ribbon. Probably instituted in 1942 for troops who participated in the initial campaign of Operation Barbarossa, the code name given for the German Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union during WWII. The writing to the reverse is as follows: Top; 'DNJEPR, DONETZ', Bottom dates: 'LUGLIO 941, LUGLIO 942', Sides: 'BUG' and 'DON', Centre: 'C.S.I.R.'. Also marked with the makers name and address, 'LORIOLI MILANO ROMA A PICOZZI MILANO'. The medal is in reasonable condition. The enamel on the front is chipped and cracked, and there are surface scratches and discolouration to the metal on the back. The engraved writing is all clear though. The ribbon is a bit dirty and the top is slightly frayed.

A First World War Trio awarded to 58550 Gunner H Thomas RFA comprising 1914-15 Star, 1914-18 Medal and Great War Medal 1914-19. Also a framed Discharge Certificate 27th October 1917. The medals that make up this trio are the 1914-15 Star, the British War Medal 1914-20, and the Victory Medal 1914-19. Virtually all service men and women received one or more of them. The Star was awarded to anyone who saw service in a theatre of war between 5th August 1914 and 31st December 1915. The British War Medal was awarded to commemorate the successful end of the war, and was issued to those who had served up to and including this in 1920. The reverse of the medal shows St George on horseback trampling the shield of the central powers. The Victory Medal was issued to commemorate the Allied victory, mostly to those who had served on the establishment of a unit in a theatre of war between 5th August 1914 and 11th November 1918. It shows Victory holding a palm leaf. All three medals are in good condition. The British War Medal is made of silver, and the other two are bronze. They all have slight surface scratches and dints, and the British War

A dog tag for 1789 W Lunn Notts SR Yeomanry. Also a First World War pair awarded to DM2-15545 Private T A Buckley Army Service Corps comprising 1914-18 Medal, and Victory Medal. Also a Second World War Defence Medal in a box addressed to Mrs RE Bellis. The medals are all in good condition. They all have scratches and discolouration to varying extents, W Lunn's victory medal and Mrs Bellis's defence medal being in the best condition. The unfitted ribbons are in excellent condition, the others are dirty but intact. All the boxes are very battered. Some have paperwork with them. The dog tag is in understandably poor condition. It is very bent and discoloured. Also included in the lot are an L.A.R.P. [Local Air Raid Precautions] Civil Defence Instructor badge in good condition and on its original card backing; a small India General Service Medal 1895-1902 which is in excellent condition; two of the envelopes which the medals were sent in, which are battered but intact; a Certificate of Employment During the War dating from 1919 which is in surprisingly good repair; and a letter of thanks for service, also from 1919, and in a similar state to the certificate.
