Jefferson Joseph DeBlanc (February 15, 1921 – November 22, 2007) was a Cajun-American World War II Marine Corps fighter pilot and flying ace, credited with shooting down nine Japanese aircraft during two tours of duty in the Pacific at Guadalcanal and Okinawa. On January 31, 1943, despite mechanical problems with his aircraft, he pressed forward with a mission and shot down five Japanese aircraft in minutes before being shot down himself. DeBlanc parachuted to safety and was rescued by native islanders, traded for a sack of rice, and picked up by a Navy seaplane. He received the Medal of Honour for his actions that day. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve until 1972. In that time, he also taught school and completed graduate and doctoral degrees in math, physics and education. Good condition Est.

Lt Gen Ira Eaker USAF signed 1983 B24 Liberator bomber cover. Flown by Details, biographies and information inside. VC 10. US Medal of Honour stamp and Washington CDS postmark. Eaker, as second-in-command of the prospective Eighth Air Force, was sent to England to form and organize its bomber command. However while he struggled to build up airpower in England, the organization of the Army Air Forces kept evolving and he was named commander of the Eighth Air Force on December 1, 1942. She attended Edinburgh College of Art from 1961 to 1965 and with a travel scholarship, travelled in France and Spain in 1966. In 1967, she had her first solo exhibit in Edinburgh. She lectured at Aberdeen College of Art from 1972 to 1974 and at Glasgow School of Art from 1975 to 1996. Her work has won many awards and recognitions including two Major Scottish Arts Council Awards, the Guthrie Medal, and the Royal Scottish Academy Sir William Gillies Travel Award. In 1983, Rae was elected President of the Society of Scottish Artists. She has had a long association with the Royal Academy and has been a member since 1992 and a Royal Academician since 1996. Rae's work has been exhibited all over the world and is held in many private collections. Rae's work is concerned with the passage of time and history. She "distills the presence of mankind," and often depicts subjects reflective of an area's history and culture. She spends weeks getting to know the surrounding area and people before beginning her artwork. Highly regarded for her printmaking skills, Rae is also a skilled colourist. In "Overberg," she uses more than 30 tones to complete the finished effect. Overberg, an area in South Africa, interested Rae because of its beautiful variety, where wheat fields are bisected by dirt roads, and purple mountains rise around them.

Beach in the Gallipoli Landings of 5th May, 1915, he was killed in action in the attacks on the trenches east of the 'Kirithia Vineyard', on this date the Btn lost its Commanding Officer and 2nd in Command, he is remembered with honour on the 'Helles Memorial' lastly a WWII group as follows, 1939-45 and Africa Stars, Defence and War medal, together with a Territorial Efficiency medal named to S-2087623 Pte H Barron. R.A.S.C., also present is the soldiers WWII pay/service book and a silver TA badge numbered, also Egyptian banknote etc, all in a splendid family grouping and worthy of further research

R D Hancock, Lt Robert David Hancock, was killed in action two days after 'D-Day' on the 8th June 1944, whilst serving with 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards (Royal Armoured Corps) in Normandy, he is buried in the Brouay War Cemetery, France, he was the son of Robert & Edith Hancock of Burnorton, Norfolk
